We have an all black cat similar to the cat in the first picture and she also likes to sit like that. Her new favorite is to sit with her back legs on the arm of the couch and her front legs on the end table like she is standing. I call it "stitting" cause she's not quite standing, not quite sitting.
When she's excited she does this thing with her front paws like she is digging. It's so funny!

Victor is a BEAUTY! And what an appropriate name!
I admire the fact that you rescue so many kitties. My two cats are being "fostered" at the home of a couple who do the same thing. They offered to keep my fur-babies while I was away and I chose them over the other offers because I know they're loved there almost as much as they are loved in my own home.
Mr. Finbar in particular is thoroughly enjoying having so many co-cats to play with or antagonize. I'm going to have to get him a kitten when we all get home so he'll have somebody to train and play with.
