Well, maybe he is suggesting that George H.W. Bush (aka Bush the Elder) run again. Not exactly my cup of tea, but he IS a Bush, and it would be a "re"-election (a la Grover Cleveland).
For my part, I'd like to see a different family take a run for a while starting in 2008. We've had nothing but Yalies since 1989.

It's way too early to make such a prediction

Bush has a great chance to win and "probably" will

Do read the 22nd Amendment:

1: No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

Either way, selected or elected, President Bush is done in 2008.

Ivan

Dynasties are unhealthy for democracy; as much as many of us like W, it's not a good idea to keep turning to the same family to provide leadership...unless you're living in a monarchy. ;)

After our victory this evening...I'm sure the President will have another rough 4 years. I have every confidence that he will serve with integrity and courage. But look at the man! He can only take so much! He's been our man for the last four and will be our man for the next four, but I'm sure he and Laura would like to enjoy their golden years, a.k.a. "The American Dream." They deserve it! Conservatives will have plenty of Republican Leaders that will be able to fit the bill when the time comes. Enjoy today and the rest of your lives with integrity and courage. God Bless all!

Santorum in '08

That's the first name that popped into my head when I start to think of 08, win or lose today. The downside is that Senators don't have a good track record, a trend that will hopefully continue today. The upside is that he would certainly bring PA with him, and one would think Ohio as locks. He just seems like such a decent, articulate man, who is NOT afraid to proudly proclaim his conservative views, even on topics like abortion. I have always thought that if pro-life repbulicans would be more bold in public discourse and debates about moral issues that they would do so much better than wimping out when the questions come up. I think Bush has done a good job, overall; certainly better than a lot of GOP pols. The next time a GOP candidate is attacked or questioned in a debate about abortion I would like him/her to go on offense and say something like "Look, I believe life is a gift from God, and that nothing trumps it. Every life is precious and deserves the rights that we enjoy. My head and my heart tells me that life begins at conception. If I believe that abortion is the taking of innocent, human life, how in the world could I support it? Would you want a candidate that would abandon what he considers to be LIFE, simply because it's the politically expedient thing to do and because the screams of those being abandoned can't be heard? I know many share my views, and for those that don't I can only hope they won't reject me simply because my standard of the sanctity of life is high. If I'm erring on the side of protecting the innocent, so be it. My consciense is clear."

Other possibilities; Tom Keane (chief of 9/11 commission former NJ gov) Santorum might be a tough sell since his anti-gay comment a few years back. Don`t forget Condi Rice, put her as VP on a ticket with Guiliani, Pataki, Keane or MAYBE Santorum, reel in the women vote and the minority vote other than the fact that she`d be a good VP on her own merits.

Guiliani is a RINO and I don't think Condi wants to run nor would I vote for her. I like her but she just tows the line. Her response to O'Reilly about illegal immigration? "We're doing all we can". hahahah yeah right.
