My daughter is 18 and voting in Boston. She showed up at the polling place to vote when it opened at 7:00. After waiting a half-hour in line she was told she was at the wrong place and sent to another location. She walked to the other location and waited another half-hour to be told she was still at the wrong place and was sent to a third location. By the time she got there the line was too long to allow her to vote and then get to work.
My daughter is a registered Republican.
She admits her mistake in going to the wrong place first, but the misdirection to the second location was either a deliberate attempt to suppress the Republican vote or simple incompetence. The only way to find out is to see if others are being treated in a similar manner.
Are other voters in Boston or Mass. seeing the same thing?
I have a call in to her and will let you know.
I will tell you one thing about this little girl. If she can, she will. Just holding her own conservative views in the liberal bastion of the Fine Arts shows what she's made of.
Shalom.
She asked me if I thought it would be safe to go hear Kerry's victory/concession speech and I told her that probably wouldn't happen until December. :(
Shalom.
