For what it is worth fellow FReepers, I have never seen voter turn out to be so large in Franklin County, NC. Showed up at the polls at 6:20 am just like in 2000. This morning, the line waiting to vote was at 200+ deep in the small town I live just outside of the city limits ( 3 mi.). In 2000, the line was only 50-60 people deep. We have had some growth in the area, but nothing to reflect the percentage in the turn out this morning to vote since moving to the area in 1991. After leaving the polls1 hr 15 min later, the line was well over 300 people waiting to vote.
I believe most Americans that are curtrent and knowledgeable with the issues and can think, know just how important this election is to us all, especially when it comes to the Presidency and filling vacant federal judgeships.
Hope and pray W and conservatives all over the nation are elected. Above all, make sure you vote!!
Did you vote at Franklinton high gym because I was there too. Unbelievable confusion. I live off Greenhill Road.
VOTER?

Go NC
A Cumberland County Cheer
Go NC Bush, Balantine, Burr
huh?
Read the title. VAOTER?
What's the breakdown of Franklin County? Does voting tend toward either party?
Yeah but I didn't post the thread either
Voter turn out here in Kansas is hugh also. I think that the Bush people, even in solidly red states are coming out in hugh numbers determined to give our man the popular vote.
Does this area lean Bush or not???
Quite a change, usually the longest wait was the minute or two it took for the little old ladies to find your name in their register.
I was In Franklin and Hayesville a week ago. I was shocked at the amount of Kerry support in rural NC. Franklin has become somewhat of a Liberal enclave, had lunch at one of the little places on the main street and stopped by the book store there to visit the cats. Seems like the Liberal Atlantians are moving in and over running the locals and driving land prices thru the roof.
No, voted at the EMS building in Youngsville.....I live west of US 1 in the 'Hurricans' (spelling is correct!)
Yeah I live west of U.S. 1 too. Never understood what Hurricans is or the story behind it.
You vote for the school bond?
yeah
Live off of Cumberland Road from '58-'68. Dad retired from the 82nd E-9 CSM
VAOTER=Voter
