Even after the CIA/FBI has authenticated new AQ tape, why is ABC still waiting to show the public. It is not their job to determine politics...Their job is to tell the whole story, no mater what the implications are...

I agree with you, Woogit. The noise about the tape and how it speaks against Bush will get wide dissemination no matter what ABC does. In fact, ABC's failure to play the tape will create resentment against them for withholding a story that could help Bush -- which means the tape is actually worth more unplayed than played.

BINGO!!! Exactly right. They know, as we do, that there is nothing that unites us more than a genuine threat against us. When we are attacked, or threatened, even those with wobbly backbones stiffen, at least for a while, and they can't have that. The MSM know that most Americans feel that President Bush is much more likely to strike back to defend and protect us. You had better believe that if they thought this video would in any way hurt Bush, they would have aired it yesterday.

The last I read, the tapes were NOT authenticated...When were they authenticated and where is the link to the authenticating statement? I would like to see this tape if it is real but I don't want it aired if it is a phony and just being used to scare people( this is also terrorism by the way.) We need to be sure of our information before putting demands on the Media or we become just like them.
Will it hurt or help Bush? I think it's tough to say. To me there's nothing that will prevent my vote for Bush; but, there are, on the other hand, people who suffer from the Spain syndrome and will respond to the tape exactly as the terrorists desire, i.e., because you "elected Bush....etc., the streets will run red with blood" and you will be punished. It's unfortunate for this great country, but there are millions of unpatriotic cowards here and they just might have a huge impact on the election.
Could be they not only don't want to get the scumbag terrorist message out, but also that they don't want it to affect voter turnout...
The only thing ABC is scared of is 4 more years of Bush. They probably don't give a rats butt about the 9/11 Commission, and quite frankly, I think the pinheads at ABC thought it was a partisan Republican commission.

Yes there are a FEW Americans who would mimic those in Spain, but I personally believe that, for the most part, Americans tend to get truly po'd when threatened like this and would unite behind President Bush. This is what happened after 9-11. The liberal MSM saw this reaction and the high approval numbers for the president. This is NOT the reaction they wish to inspire among the American people at this time. No, they are holding the tape precisely because they accurately suspect what our group reaction would be. And it would translate into more votes for Bush. Those undecideds would come down off the fence and remember how they felt on 9-11 and vote overwhelmingly for Bush. JMHO, :o).

No, they shouldn't air it because it is real news that goes against the grain of their form of journalism. News isn't news if it doesn't fit an agenda or doesn't hurt Bush. Besides, Peter Jennings has cute little way of rolling his eyes everytime he has to read the word, Bush. /sarcasm
