Tell People Under 40 About Viet-Nam!
10-26-04 | The Code Guy

I was amazed yesterday talking to a group of 40 year olds that they had no idea about the events of the Viet-Nam War. They need us to explain!

Suppose a marine Lieutenant today got released after his tour in the desert of 4 months. While still a just dismissed reserve, he makes three trips to Pakistan and meets with Ben-Laden and other enemies of his country to colaborate on ways to help the US lose the War against Islamic Terrorists. He returns home and organizes a committee and writes a book. He goes on TV and rallies sympathizers to his cause. He meets with the congress to tell about (faked) atrocities that he had done. He condemns his other military brothers in the war for doing the same and worse with the knowledge and support of their superiors.

Fast forward thirty-three years. Now this same grown up traitor wants to lead our country's military as Commander In Chief. Wouldn't your rather have him tarred and feathered and run out of town?

By the way, is Kerry's goose cooked yet?

Just a "historical" note from one old enough to have lived it. We won the war in Vietnam. Not only did the N Viets never win a single battle with US troops, President Nixon bombed them and mined their harbors forcing a peace treaty which took the N Viet forces completely out of S Vietnam.

AFTER Nixon resigned, the N Viets violated the treaty and launched a massive tank attack into South Vietnam. The democrats in Congress had passed a bill preventing us from even giving our allies supplies! President Ford went on nationwide TV and asked Congress to supply our allies. They refused.

I think the liberals believe (or at least claim) that the US military actually lost in Vietnam because the war was a "lost cause." It never happened, you can thank the Kerryites for the loss of that peace.

You are right, most people under 40 do not know that Nixon won the peace via a couple of weeks of Linebacker II. I myself was not fully aware of this until I did some research on Kerry's background. Nixon's peace plan is exactly what the VC were trying to prevent though Kerry in 1971.

Nixon won the peace in Vietnam, and we were poised to back up that peace via a huge club based in Thailand & Guam (B-52's).

After Watergate swept the antiWar McGovern/Kerry wing of the (D)s into congress they surrendered it.

I am convinced Kerry would do the same in Iraq.

Exactly. His people "lost the peace" deliberately. People not alive then cannot understand how illogical the left was, how much it hates America, how much it HAD to see America and its allies defeated. But Americans NEVER elected a McGovernite even in the midst of that war. Now they might.
