Generally speaking, there was a lot of overconfidence. I remember being totally stunned on election night. Shortly thereafter I freeped Joe Liebemans house!

As a result of 2000 many here are more cautious, and some are outright doom and gloomers! Welcome aboard.

Having not been here in 2000, I can say this much. In 2000 I honestly felt like it would be a squeaker one way or the other. I was hopeful but not near over confident. If I had never seen or joined FR I know I would be confident right now. I still am, but the "bad" news kind of gets to me after a while. The doom and gloomers are really a downer.

I am thinking about taking the rest of the week off of paying attention to the news and the polls. Of course I have been saying that for the last two weeks and it hasn't happened yet. Thanks for some perspective. Now I understand the mindset here a little better.
