I am fairly new here, so I am just wondering what it was like at FR in 2000.

I don't have enough strength left to deride your ignorant questions and half baked comments about unimportant trivia, or any of the rest of this drivel. Duh. The only thing worse than your logic is your manners. I have snipped away most of what you wrote, because, well... it didn't really say anything. Your attempt at constructing a creative post was pitiful. I mean, really, stringing together a bunch of insults among a load of babbling was hardly effective... Maybe later in life, after you have learned to read, write, spell, and count, you will have more success. True, these are rudimentary skills that many of us "normal" people take for granted that everyone has an easy time of mastering. But we sometimes forget that there are "challenged" persons in this world who find these things more difficult. If I had known, that this was your case then I would have never read your post. It just wouldn't have been "right". Sort of like parking in a handicap space. I wish you the best of luck in the emotional, and social struggles that seem to be placing such a demand on you.

Hon, you have to understand. None of us had showered, flossed, washed our hair, done a single chore in weeks. We were exhausted from cspan watching all nite. We were ignoring our obligations of all kinds. We were not exactly party girls if you get my drift. We were one step up from looking like, actually living in homeless shelters. It was the most mind boggling thing I have ever done and I have done alot in my life.

I was lurking 24/7 during the 2000 election.

I had three TVs running, with one in the bathroom.

Did not take a bath for days. I almost joined FR, but I saw too much infighting.

I did not join until just after 9/11 when everyone got together. I wanted to be a part of that.

Well,I am still here and we are probably much more unified now, then we were in 2000. Otherwise, I would be miserable all the time.

As it is, I am only miserable some of the time.:-)

Yeah, I read some of her school term papers before they disappeared. I had copies but my drive crashed.

I don't know if they are in the archives, one of them was really a study of just how they operate now by destroying the opposition. (right out of the commie play book)

I listened to the talking heads on election night and lurked on FR. I remember when they called Florida for Bush there were all sorts of graphics of fireworks and GWB dancing on FR and I clapped and cheered. Then...

Gore did not concede -- the numbers coming out of the late precincts just kept building towards Gore and I thought I was going to lose my mind. It was a horrid night that I would hope never is repeated in American history. From glee to absolute disbelief in a matter of minutes.
