Anybody else getting the feeling that NBC is the Clinton wing of the media? They broke protocol on backing Kerry and tore down the Time's story on the missing weapons. Katie went after Kerry pretty hard in her interview. Matthews had an orgasm when he saw Bill in PA. To me, they seem to have an almost subtle anti-Kerry bent this last week. Could they be trying to crash Kerry's campaign for the Clintons or even at the behest of the Clintons? If they pick up the story on the Hanoi documents proving Kerry was doing the bidding of the VC, then we'll know they're in the bag for Clintons.
No. NBC did it because they had to. The blogs would have scooped them, and they are in it to make money. They wanted to set the table on this not the bloggers. Smart move by NBC IMHO.
Certainly there's enough threads on this subject you didn't have to post a vanity to get this point across? But since it's here ... NBC told the truth on this one - they had a reporter who was there and rather than keeping silent they actually did what journalists are supposed to do - reported what they saw and heard. Where's the point in slamming them or looking for a hidden agenda when they do what we've been asking all along for them to do?
I thought the vanity section was for vanities? Man, every time I post I seem to be breaking some hidden FR rule. It's maddening.
Don't worry, I'm not part of the vanity police, but there have been so many vanities lately, and I wouldn't want FR to start to look like DU. I would look for a thread related to the subject on your mind and post there rather than posting a vanity just because you have a new thought. I think in my time here I've only posted one, maybe two, vanities.
Whatever anyone wants to say about NBC, they helped the President greatly this time. Despite the story being total BS, we would have had to hear about it until Nov. 2.
Of the four liberal networks (ABC, NBC, ABC, CNN), NBC tries the hardest to be fair (not that it's saying much, mind you :-)
There may be some truth in the notion that behind the scenes there is a palpable tension between the clintonistas and the kennedy/kerry operatives. Dems. are generally more concerned about their personal ambitions and agendas than Republicans. My guess is that there are heavy internal tensions at the DNC. How to capitalize on that is another question.
