President Bush calls himself a "compassionate conservative". He truly is just that.
You're absolutely right. I can see so clearly his genuine care for people. He has compassion because he has been through so much in his life. He can easily put himself in the place of others. I wonder if that is part of why some people have so much animus toward him--they are afraid of someone with real feelings.
