O'Reilly Litigation unfortunately, probably accurate after reading complaint.

While I don't agree with O'Reilly on 1/2 of his talking points, I do believe he is good for "Fair & Balanced" News but if true, everyone has to "Pay the Piper", at some point in their life. Let's pray this isn't true, but the complaint is pretty convincing.

Personally I find the timing of the allegations suspicious, coming just a day after O'Reilly accused her of a "multimillion dollar shakedown attempt" (not sure what that's all about) and two weeks before the election.

According to FOX and O'Reilly, they came (first lawyers and then all) to FOX and tried to extort $60 million or they would put the information out. There were several meetings.

"I think she was a fool to keep taking his calls and there is more here than meets the eye."

Unless a woman has tapes, there's no evidence. It appears she had had enough - he wouldn't stop when she repeatedly told him to stop after she came back, and so she did what any intelligent woman would do.. she got evidence. A weaker woman would have been too frightened to face this explosion... so many women are afraid of their jobs, afraid of confrontation, afraid to be seen as sluts.

There are two completely different stories here... the legal one and the personal one. The personal one is yet another line entered into the immense volume written about powerful men who have gone down in flames because their ruthlessness finally touched the wrong woman.

Bye bye, Bill. It couldn't have happened to a more deserving human being.

Thanks for the explanation - I hadn't heard that.

Whether he's guilty or not, it's obvious that his accuser's primary motivation is not justice!

Her lawyer is a big democrat, NYC shyster that has pulled extortion before.

He once had a client that arranged to plant false emails on the company computer to aid his case. After settlement (no trial) the lawyer admitted that he never thought they had much of a case.

But it was a big media case involving the hot buttons of homsexuality and race (see below) and the company did a couple of stupid things in response to the suit so they settled out of court. The settlement? One million dollars to the Urban League. Go figure.

(He appeared in a gay magazine with an erection. The company terminated him based on falsifying records but he claimed discrimination.)

BTW, if you got this far, Her boss at CNN just prior to this was terminated for sexual harrassment.

Vanity postings are OK. But most people clearly label them as vanity postings, so that the rest of us know it before we go to read it.

It seems to me that some just hate vanity postings period. If someone doesn't like it don't click onto it and if you find yourself on one just leave. I enjoy listening to peoples' thoughts and feelings. BOR has shocked many and people feel the need to vent. This is part of being human.

Personally, I think O'Reilly is smarter than this, but you never know.

I feel the same way. I believe Bill is much smarter then this. I believe him to be an upstanding man. But.....alas..we are all human. I just pray it isn't true of him. I am also suspicious of the timing.

Everyone is jealous of Fox and Bill is their main man......pretty suspicious, IMHO.

Actually, if you read O'Reilly's book, he doesn't seem concerned with facts.

My dislike of O'Reilly is based on his performance after 9/11. IMO, he likes to take the side opposite of his guests no matter what their position, facts be damned.

I don't know that much about the law suit going on. My questions is, is if this went on for so long why didn't she tell him to shut up, or talk to the brass? Why is the very first move with an attorney? OTOH, if there is some documentation that he's been slapped on the hand and continued, then shame on both him and Fox.

You're absolutely correct about complaints.

I work for a lawyer and I can attest to the fact that complaints are very detailed. They are drafted, typed, re-drafted, corrections made in wordage, etc. They are looked over carefully. However, even then we can miss something. If there are bad mistakes (typos not initially noticed, ommissions or wrong words) in the complaint and it is already filed with the court, most attorneys will file an amended complaint or an "Errata Sheet" to correct the errors. If a potential party to the lawsuit is unknown at the time of filing ("John Doe" or "Jane Doe") and then their identity is found out later, then an "amended complaint" can be done at that time. It can get quite involved.

One odd thing though, about the O'Reilly filings, why was the plaintiff's complaint filed in single space! Usually we have to do ours in double space. Judges like proper form to read when you file pleadings.

Anyway, hope Bill is innocent. The "discovery process" (finding out the facts, depositions, etc.) will be interesting. Wonder if Fox News will cover it with the detail they have on the Kobe Bryant and Scott Peterson trials.

>>>>>>>People just don't come to FR to read vanities.<<<<<<

Is this your opinion, or is it a fact. It is odd to have someone bellyaching about the posting of opinions and then posting her opinion in that post.

I don't come to FR to hear people complain about other posts. See how crossed that statement is?

Man, I don't come here for anything BUT the vanities, and the cookies of course.

I read the entire thing on smokinggun.com and it sure sounds like that pompous buffoon. I believe her, and want to hear the tapes.

That said, the pompous buffoon O'riely went off the tracks, and into the weeds a long time ago.

What the FAT PIG EDWARDS WIFE folks do not understand, is that we gave up on O'riley a long time ago.

Did I mention that Edwards has a FAT PIG FOR A WIFE? Not to get personal, or anything, but her comments regarding the Cheneys makes me wonder. I wonder if THE FAT PIG EDWARD'S WIFE ATE ALL OF THE PANCAKES.

Nothing personal, Mrs. FAT PIG Edwards.

It's funny, I was talking to a liberal friend the other day about this. She was totally gleeful and she told me all about it with a very self satisfied look on her face. She said that this will be a black eye for conservatives. I just laughed and said that the only people who consider O'R a conservative are liberals. She was surprised to learn that many, many of us can't stand the guy. All that being said I would like to see him win this case. There is something that does not smell right about the whole story. I don't know if it is so much an effort to go after O'R or an effort to go after Fox. Originally she was asking for 600 million dollars and they got it down to 60 million. O'R may be rich but he is not that rich however Fox is.

If she has tapes that will hurt but I wonder if with in all this sexual banter she did not egg him on. If this turns out to be true the person I feel the most sorry for his O'R's wife. What an ugly thing to find out about your spouse.

"The point is, whatever you think of O'R, can't we be a little perverted at times without going to jail or getting sued?"

Yeah but you can't be boycotting Ludicrous and Pepsi, and preaching against the sins of the secularists while you are asking women (who are not your wife), to let you purchase (and name) their vibrator. Let's face it Billy O' is a closet freak that just got outed. When the tapes come out (and they will) he's done.

Think Ringo. :)

As an aside, where in the world did that one poster come up with $600,000,000 as the original negotiating amount? har har. And an even further aside: why Bill the Bishop Beater make that crack on Thursday's show to Ann Coulter about her "short skirts"? I hope they have BtheBB in some kind of safe house over the weekend for spontaneous imploders.

I am not making a case on either side for either of them. You stated that sexual harrassment claims were bullshit and I answered your question about my claim.

Actually, I never wrote out a curse word, as you have twice. And second of all, if you refer to my initial post, I said physical contact is not the same as verbal sexual harassment.
