You must've been watching c-span 3's rerun of the first debate. Tonight Bush destroyed the other guy.
It was a knock-out performance... unless you buy the "I have a plan" shtick.
THIS is the President I know and love! I missed him last time, glad he showed up tonight.
At the end, as Bush was speaking to the crowd and Kerry was talking to Charlie Gibson and Teraysah, somebody standing beside Bush dropped something. The President of the United States bent over and picked it up for him. What a good guy.
I was the same way. I can't stand the way the guy totally disregards his own record and says outrageous things about Bush.

HE'S INTO IT NOW. Bush will close not Kerry-your're wrong Mr. Dick Morris.
Kondracke and Kristol are both complaining that Bush didn't take Kerry to task for his not voting for the First Gulf War.... Kerry is such a "target rich environment" it's tough to cover all of his liberal positions over all the years. 90 seconds is not enough time to list all of Kerry's lies and deceptions. Bush missed some opportunities, but I think he did a terrific job.
On every single issue, Bush had the right argument -- and Kerry had the wrong side of every issue... Not that that should matter, right?
I know. He won't answer any question.
President Bush should never debated him for the following reasons.
1. Kerry was behind and was falling further behind. He has nothing to lose and everything to gain.
2. Everything was set up to give kerry every advantage.
The format should have at least been neutral.
3. President Bush had everything to lose and nothing to gain. Thanks to him exposig kerry's domestic record and the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth exposing Kerry's "War Hero" record along with the Republicans going to Kerry's meetings and causing him to lose his temper, his lead was increasing each day.
4. You stay with what is working.
5. When you have your enemy down; don't give him a chance to recover.
Kerry said all along that he would cut taxes on the middle class and roll them back for the top 1 percent...I don't think his "read my lips, no new taxes" can be turned into a contradiction...
However, what Democrat dead or alive has not raised taxes when given the opportunity...
