They have competition. No need to buy a Leatherman. I've actually been looking for a multi-tool, glad I know what NOT to buy.

Why would he even make his position public?

Linking to a WEBMAIL portal that requires a password is not particularly useful.
Notice that "Almost all of you" have responded negatively.

Gerber makes a great Leatherman-type tool. I have one and love it.

is this a privately held company, or a public one?

Already got rid of mine, sent it back to the company head quarters, after I torched it into pieces.
That was more fun than shredding a Bruce Sprinstinks CD

I have never heard of him, his company or his tools.
Now I will be certain I never purchase anything "Leatherman."

The stupidity of these guys amazes me. My father understood that using his farm reader-board sign to endorse a candidate or issue would alienate some of his customer base, regardless of what side of the issue he took. He would only put neutral messages up: "Don't forget to vote", "School board meeting Tuesday", etc.

What is this wipe's email address? I'm going to let him know as well of my decision to never purchase his product.

Please post Mr. Tim Leatherman's email address so we can add to his pile of invitations to boycott his products. His response is not only foolhardy, but provocative. So be it.

this link takes you to an article in The Oregonian. Basically, this dork Tim Leatherman (can you say "name change") turned his back on the users of his gear: military, firemen, cops, rescue, etc, which, according to my un-scientific poll, not overly enamoured with a guy that bearcrawls with a shotgun to hunt deer. I hate leatherman tools anyway.
Gerber is a much better piece of equipment for the money. If anyone has any insight on Gerber's endorsement they might want to let them know that the commercial studio is waiting for them to undercut the tree-hugger from Oregon.

Several years ago I bought a few of those Leatherman multi-purpose tools as Christmas gifts. At least two of them were defective and simply fell apart; I returned all of them for a refund.
Leatherman tools are junk.
