Edwards was a fluke win last time in NC, no way he'll get re-elected... he's a lame duck at the Senate level.

Edwards has been running for the WH for the past two years. He only 'served' four years as a Senator. And he never got above 50% approval in his own state. He lost his home town, his home precinct, his home county and his home congressional district when he ran in 1998. What makes anybody think that he could have won this time ??? Being VP was his fall-back position. He really didn't even run for the Presidency, he ran for VP.

We have resented him ever since he was elected here and immediately began going to places like New Hampshire and Iowa to run for president. He literally went from being elected to the senate to running for president. He would have lost badly if he had run for re-election. Plus, he voted with Ted Kennedy almost across the board. That doesn't play well here in North Carolina.

I grew up around the corner from Edwards. All I can say is, let Bush's numbers here in NC answer that question (Kerry is losing here).

From what I can tell he wouldn't have had a chance. I'm not sure he ever really was a senator from here, he gets paid and doesn't even show up for work.

He hasn't been a senator for 6 years, he hasn't worked for over a year yet he calls himself working, dah.

I live in Raleigh and we all hate Edwards. He has been totally absent in representing us in the Senate. He is also full of crap.

I live in the mountains of NC, near Asheville, and the talk is that Erskine Bowles has no more "mo" now than he did when he went up against Elizabeth Dole. (In fact, some of the crap he slung at her still gets folks riled up.)

Richard Burr needs to become the US Senator to replace little Johnny!! My vote will go towards that goal!

Yes, it's true. The people of NC do not like him. They say he did absolutely nothing as a Senator....they know he just used Senate job as a stepping stone to become Pres. HE IS A LOSER!! plus he's a girlie-man.

Unfortunately i'm from Boston. As far as I can remember, If you ask most anybody around here what John Kerry has done as our senator usually all you would get is a blank stare. Up until the election I bet alot of Mass residents didn't even know he was our Senator! Dick Morris claims Clinton used to call him Senator Invisible.
