Did anyone see Nancy Pelosi??? Gosh, she was full of vitriol. Some guy named Lindsay was speaking of unity and she responded with "If you think that means we're going to give up what we believe in, you gotta nother thing coming...we're standing our ground." The guy responded by saying "You stood your ground with our judicial nominations and that's why you're in the situation in you're in now." She was literally livid with hate just pouring from her eyes.
I have never seen such palitable hate.
She'd better be careful. She'll pop a stitch.
Enjoying the news, as everyone is... curious to see what the final EV count will be, once all the counting is done.

Her eyes were bugging and she was trying to "smile" but her lips were stretched across her teeth and she looked like she was snarling. I swear, she gave her hate a physical manifestation with her appearance...it was ungodly in every sense of the word.

Um, no. No, living in Pittsburgh, we've know Teh-ray-zaaah, and she was never sweet. Maybe less loopy and self centered, but that just could be because her first husband had her respect, but no. And 'her' money goes to fund all sorts of liberal organizations.

I'm getting caught up on things from this morning, when I was asleep. Listening to my taped broadcast of Rush, which was JIPped to cover the Kerry/Edwards concession speech. What a couple of whiney losers!. "Gracious" is not in their vocabulary, any more than "honorable" and "honest". Then they have the gall to call for a "healing process" (translation: do things their way) when they are franchisees of the Clintons' scorched earth tactics.
The RINO Detroit News today must have been printed before midnight last night. Things looked pretty bleak for them, because it looked like Bush was winning, and the ammendment prohibiting gay marraige passed by a wide margin. I can only imagine that the RAT Detroit Free Press was like a psych ward where the meds were three hours late.
I refuse to ever set foot in DU again (a snakepit where the meds are three months late), but I read a few quotes here. One of their most cogent arguments is, "the exit polls all showed a Kerry landslide, so Rove must have rigged the voting". Yeah, right. Don't bother counting votes, it's the exit poll that determines the winner. Is that what they meant when they said, "every vote counts"? Why have ballots and voting booths? Just walk out the door, and tell some bozo.
In 2000, Bush was "illegitimate" because he lost the popular vote. In 2004, he's "illegitimate" because he lost in the exit polling. Does that mean he's still elegible to run for two more full terms as President?
In other news, thanks to Corin's tip, and generous contribution, I have seven more contacts for Hobbit Hole knives, including one extra-special one. You will please excuse me while I worry that the next shipment has not yet arrived.
I've gotten FReepmail from a week ago or so. She's been traveling around to visit TheNewlyweds and other family and trying to get her house ready to put on the market.
I just got back from Wal-Mart. In the parking lot, and on the street along the way home, were paper sellers with big signs that said "Extra!" and the edition of the paper that actually admitted Bush won. I just sat there and stared. It was, honestly, like seeing a horse and buggy on the highway. Don't they know they're irrelevant? Who waits until the paper prints to get their info?
Can't wait for the Inauguration/Inaugural ball*! I can't speak for Corin, but HHers interested in a pilgrimage are certainly welcome to stay with us!

'Evening...I now have heat at TheNewHouse (had to get the gas company to turn the gas on) and now I need to get an estimate from the insulation guy.
Didn't get anything written today unless I can fit an extraction procedure in a story about killer toasters and pawnshops.
Well now I have one good thing to say about sKerry....he handled the loss better than AlGore.
