Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner there may wait...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Evenin'
Just home from rehearsals. Also got some yard work done in between and am goin' back out to plant/pot some pansies and some mums, as well as plant some bulbs. It's an ambitious agenda that I won't complete this evening.
Jr's gone to a concert with some friends. I considered sayin' no, but that ain't been doin' no good. His closest friends (and the one's he's goin' with) are all honor students. Maybe some of it'll rub off.
Still hacking the nights away. I think this is how winter will be.
Back later. Time to go play in the dirt.
mmmmm...dirt...

Nope. I'm still at the apartment. Close on the house on the 29th but I had to give 2 months' notice. I'll be able to do laundry here until December.
I need to get a washer/dryer for the house before then.

We've been trying to be productive. Spiderboy and I made three terraria today. This is the largest one.

The "rocks" in the bottom are a bunch of marbles we've had getting in the way. This terrarium has three kinds of peppers, sunflowers, broccoli, and a small potato from the compost heap.

Spiderboy is morphing into Jordi-Boy. Note wallpaper.

Not at all- he's simply caught in a space-time anomaly. (the standard Roddenberry plot device)

No, I don't know anything about XML... yet.
Been working on the barn all day. Gotta get back out there. We are working on a stopgap measure to allow all 3 horses inside before the stalls are built.

Ah, fun...
Sigh, for some reason I can't seem to get the xml phrased right - it doesn't like the top element, I guess.

I still have yard work to do. It'll never be done.
My cherry tomato plant hadn't been completely picked clean before that frost, and all the tomatoes are mooshy now...big mess. I'm not sure how best to take that apart and get rid of it. And I still have daffodils to plant SOMEwhere. I could plant them where I had vegetables this year and give up on that idea...and it's tempting in some ways.
I haven't decided yet. But I need to figger it out quickly.

Gonna watch another episode of Samurai 7 and see if it grows on me at all. I haven't made up my mind whether I like it or not.
