The Hobbit Hole XVI - Still round the corner there may wait...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner there may wait...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Bear in mind the second map is a mathematical projection based on trends, and that it shows a Bush 320+ EV victory.

IIRC NM has been drifting D-ward the last few days...

The missileers at Los Alamos and the artistes in Taos are fighting it out. The burning hulks of stuned beebers litter the landscape :)

Good evenin'! Anyone home?

Just watched the debate over at my sister's house. She's been feeling pretty bummed since her promotion. Life sucks that way sometimes.

Kerry is a steaming pile of maggot-ridden innards with an entire dump truck of guano on top. Yuck! Just watching him makes my skin crawl with disgust. The lies just slip on out so easily, it's terrifying to see someone do it without recoiling.

I'm so happy that I'll be out visiting Pubbies in the area for an hour tomorrow. The president of my community's association is a big-time Republican and asked for volunteers to canvass to get out the vote for Dubya.

Evenin' folks. We had pizza and watched Shrek, then kinda watched the debate and talked to Jr. at the same time...(more in a minute).

Did you see the Hildebeast on Fox? Acted like she didn't know her health care scheme was called "Hillary Care." I don't know enough profanity to describe that witch.

Wife has been working with Jr. to do another clean sweep of his room (we never really finished the closet). But in the process he unloaded a bunch of issues that bug him. Basically stupid teenage boy stuff that we told him he just had to live with. Like not liking it when both of us are up and moving in the morning. Wife pointed out that if she's up that early it's likely that it's because she never went to bed and was up all night working.

But, the big issue. Told him he has to prove to us that he can make it in public school. Wife has a meeting with teachers and guidance counselors later this month. She told him if he's not showing progress by then, we'll pull him out and homeschool/tutor him for the rest of the year.

SHE also told him that the only reason he wasn't going to military school was that we couldn't afford it.

I don't know if it registered with him, but it scared the crap out of ME...

Evenin' Corin.

I'm keeping you and especially Jr in my prayers. The teenage years are rough ones and we've all been through them. Jr needs to come up with a vision of what he wants to be doing 10 years from now and lay out the plan to do it.

With adulthood comes personal responsibility and he realistically cannot expect you and the Mrs to be there to motivate him every time he doesn't feel like getting something done.

That said, I do hope the Lord grants our prayer and stirs up Jr's Spirit a bit!

hehehehe....my Dubya was in great shape tonight. I was so proud!

He really does well in the townhall format. I hope you catch the highlights on TV because his aggressive stance was pretty terrific to watch.

Kerry is a pansy.

BTW, how you feelin'?

I'm feeling somewhat less like crap than I was. I have stopped by my waterin' hole, and my beertendress has made me a wonderful concoction of hot brandy, amaretto and lemon... wow. I'm feeling much better, fer some reason.
