Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner there may wait...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Other than that she seemed like a nice lady. At least I don't have a garage band next door. (and the so-called bushes looked a bit scraggly. I'm thinking about replacing them with blueberry or blackberry bushes...something I can eat off of.)

You got a horse?
Very cool!

So how did the first full day with all three horses in the same field go? A bigger, happier herd?

Wish I could see the picture...
When I ping freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net, it resolves to address 216.67.228.232, but all I get is a "Request timed out". It must be something with RoadRunner, because when I telnet into our own webserver (hosted by another company) and ping your site, I get a response.
I have no idea what's wrong, or how to fix it.

Thanks. It's not as musty as one would expect.Musty!? I should hope not! Hobbit Holes are very nice, cozy places...not nasty musty, damp sorts of homes!
Hullo! Welcome to our humble abode!

I'll look forward to it!
Kinda sorta listening to the debate. We had music night and then I had to drive youngestbother home, so I missed the beginning.
The food turned out GREAT! The bothers really liked it, too. Luckily I still have LOTS of leftovers...so I have food for the rest of the week. Mmmm...beef...and spicy sauce...

So how did the first full day with all three horses in the same field go? A bigger, happier herd? The herd is both bigger, and more harmonious than it was yesterday. They are getting along fine, despite the raging hormones of two of the members. When that settles down, they'll be even better.
They are wetter now than I wish they were... We tried to put two in and leave one outside with uncrowded access to the lean-to. The separation wasn't going to work harmoniously, so we put them all back out. One or all of them may fit in the lean-to, but right now they aren't trying. It is rainy, but warm out, nearly 60 degrees. They're blanketed. They'll live. It just means they are all out until we can get the new stall built, so that puts the pressure on to get it done before it gets cold.

Howdy.... Cyn is doing well. ecurbh saddled her up today and we think that Bay's saddle will fit her OK. He didn't ride today, the big bite that Bay put on her back yesterday is still ouchy. We want her comfortable and ready to be her best when ecurbh tries her on a good long ride, for the safety of both of them, so we are waiting another day at least. ;~D
I missed the part about the garage conversion idea... been a little self-absorbed lately. What were you considering, if it matters now, as a dead idea.
