Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner there may wait...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Ok. That should be the last memory I have to swap today. Good, because my hands are not happy - the dust and metal just dries them out...

Heh...not a very efficient way of cooling a drink, is it? But it's still fun to play with...

If I had a garage I would have built one. One more project to wait until I buy a house. Right now me and my brother are experimenting with plastic casting so we can construct lasertag gear.

Sigh... my hands got so dirty I had to scrub them twice to get them clean. I'm not opposed to getting my hands dirty, but ugh!

That's much more like it. The image has to be sized down to something about the size of a quarter. We'll test it out on a piece of brass first. I hope that keeping the beam at its narrowest will help, otherwise narrow lines will merge into one big fat one.
Keep up the good work. I'll take everybody's examples, and we'll try them on brass for testing.

I used to never get them off...but there are some perks to working for a state institution. Not many...but some.
We don't get Monday off, though - isn't that the real Columbus Day? And it's just called "Fall Break".
Is it four yet?

Later folks. We gots tickets to see "The Producers" tonite. Bought the Broadway series with other folks from our Music and Fine Arts Ministry.
So it's ~kinda~ like goin' to church...
Prolly not be around until tomorrow. Then again, maybe I'll sign on during one of tonite's coughing episodes.

We don't get it off either... next break is Thanksgiving and I have to work part-time then too. Oh well. I couldn't go home if I wanted to. Instead I've already volunteered to cook the turkey for the "loser Thanksgiving dinner".
Now... a little while here and I can go home... do a couple chores, then off to more meetings and stuff.

*stewing*
I have just spent the ENTIRE day fisking a letter written to the whole of my family (dad, mom, aunts uncles on BOTH sides) by one my Leftwad aunts. Apparently she got in her mailbox a copy of that letter written back in May of the man writing to his sons about the war (Letter to the World). I tried, folks. I tried to be calm and reasonable, but the more her letter went on and the more information I had to drum up to refute her points, the angrier I got. Now its 3:00 and I havent done squat on what I originally intended on doing...

Have some cocoa and remember: None of us can save the World alone, and altogether we cannot save the World entire. We must do what we can, of course...
