Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner there may wait...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I want to see pictures of the bulbs next spring... You want her to dig 'em up next spring just so you can see 'em?

Heh...they may not look much different!
Fresh hot bread available to any Hobbit Holers in the neighborhood in the next twenty minutes or so! First I've baked since starting the diet, though we're allowed whole grain stuff. I've been afraid to have it around, I guess...temptation. Plus it's been hot. Not today!
Sure smells good. I'm gonna give it another ten minutes before I cut one slice to have before hitting the hay...

Thanks for the vote of confidence! Heh...
I'm just wondering if bulbs need any growing time at ALL in the fall, or if they're fine just so long as they make it in the ground. But I bought the big cheap bags instead of lots of individual bulbs...so even if only some of them work, I'll be doing pretty good.

AFAIK, they just need to be in the ground before it freezes. You can force them inside in pots, but I haven't figgered out that recipe yet...

I'm wayyyyyy too lazy for that.
We're supposed to have temps back up in the 70s during the day on Friday and well into the sixties on Sunday, with nights only in the 40s for the foreseeable future, so I'm probably fine.
If they DO work out, I'll get pictures!

I swear, one of these years we HAVE to have a Foliage Moot!
They've added some new pictures here. I literally drive past a lot of those pictures every day now. Love it!

You know, as midterms approach I wonder that myself...
At least I have free time tonight, more because my assignments don't have firm definitions yet than because I have nothing to do.
