Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner there may wait...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

And sigh, as I cannot get any files to upload, I think I'm going to bed... just let me check out those links first, five more minutes...

"Ficcing?" You mean writing?
Yes, I'm writing, but on a topic that's new for me. Nothing like my science fiction masterpiece.

The Nanowrimo help I need most is paring down my huge outline into a reasonably-sized story. I was working on it on the plane(s) yesterday and decided I had 3-4 books' worth. *sigh*
I could also write on two other topics, but I just can't pick.

'Morning.
Can't I just sleep in today?

Baseball is MUCH better in person... I do think football is better on TV I agree. A night out at the (base)ballpark is lovely. There's a minor league team near us and we really enjoy attending. Football is just over my head- I need the instant replays and that marvelous yellow "first down" line that one of the networks digitally paints on the field.

Ooh...I'll be bookmarking these. I have a few others I use, but think some of yours are better.
Cliché finder, huh? I can use that for ideas. ;-)

Having too many ideas is far better than having too few!
Heh...you could always write a trilogy! One a year...

I'm sorry I forgot you, Lil'!
Write one book! Publish it via electronic press! Then get a multibook deal on the others!
You'll be an overnight success! <grin>

Good morning! Really frosty today. I was too lazy to scrape my car windows (and running late), so I hadda roll the windows down at every intersection. Ya know...I never wanted electric windows (Dad raised me to think the workings would break if you so much as breathed on 'em...) but I'm finding they're very handy in the winter, especially when I'm either running late or have something get dumped on me by another car and block that window.
But I need to start getting out there earlier now that the cold weather is here. *sigh*
Tryin' an experiment today. I'm having tea insteada coffee...partly just 'cause it's quicker. Dunno if it's sufficiently caffeinated, but we'll see, I guess.
*yawn*

Heh...I'm looking forward to the day when I can say I knew several of the Hobbit Hole authors "when"!
For me it's just for fun, but I guess ya never know. Maybe I'll get good at it someday, at least at kids' stories. I think I could do that. Only catch is I could never write something that would be what the big places would be looking for...modern and dealing with current social issues. Ick.

F.A. Hayek suggested that to understand the meaning of the word "social," when paired with the word "justice," one should consider that "social," in that usage, to be interchangeable with the word "coercive." I agree.
I think you write very well, Rosie, and could do anything you want with it. Lots of published stuff isn't nearly as good as yours.
