The Hobbit Hole XVI - Still round the corner there may wait...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner there may wait...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Hey. Maybe the guy that's trolling for someone to talk to is that poor geek trying to find you.

Should I direct him here? LOL!

Uh... nah... the geek could figure out my email address if he wanted too...

It was mildly successful flirting. He's actually a nice guy who I think is kinda cute and we're into the same anime, so mostly it was talking. And flirting at anime club is a bizarre thing. Like this:

"That must be a girl. She has the insane anime chick laugh."
"Yeah, but Dilandu from Escaflowne had the same laugh."
"Yes, but he was a girl, too."

I find this anime thing to be troubling and fascinating all at the same time.

But if it's providing you with a way to get out there and meet people, well ALRIGHTY THEN!

It's just television shows... ok, so some of it is a little weird. The club watches eichii (slightly pervy) stuff, but not hentai (basically pornographic), yuri or yaoi... (um... you don't want to know)

Mostly it's just slightly twisted shows about, say, ninja kids beating each other up, or a family possessed by the Chinese Zodiac, or giant fighting robot things piloted by guys who have wings when it's convenient.

And it really is the geek thing to do. I love geeks...

I agree with you there, sis.

Nothing more lovable in the world than a geek!

And they age well. Not that many geek trade their wives in for the new model.

I definitely want a geek! And they make me feel comfortable "practicing" on them.

Can't go wrong with that, chica.

I can tell you from personal experience that the "cool" guys are not necessarily that "cool" anymore once you're married to them.

Besides, I personally think geeks are the coolest guys I know!

So do I! But then my Dad's a geek and so of course I'd think so.

This particular geek happens to agree with me on the Best Anime Ever. Plus he said he "likes shoujo anime", which I think means he was trying to impress me. (shoujo is girls' anime. Most guys won't admit to liking it)

I have a question for my fellow Washingtonians...

Do the local campaign offices have Bush-Cheney campaign merchandise like buttons, yard signs, etc? I want to get some buttons and pens to wear tow work to see if I can get myself fired or some such thing, and don't want to have to wait for a mail order from the offical campaign website. Do you guys know where else I could pick up stuff like that? Sheesh, I shoulda just ordered all this stuff when I first thought about it a month ago, but oh well....

The local offices should have some of the yard signs and buttons. There is always the georgewbushstore.com though it takes at least a week to get the stuff.

Well, engage in a little silliness and slap Kerry, if that will help.

I finally got a 10. I think the secret is aiming for an uppercut slap at his chin, after a long windup from the right hand side of the screen. Are there any other secrets I should know?
