The Hobbit Hole XVI - Still round the corner there may wait...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner there may wait...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

*screams in frustration*

Did I mention that management is discussing when they'll allow us another "Wear Jeans to Work" day?

My sister will finally have the official announcement about her promotion made tomorrow (I think). And they've decided to give her a double-wide cubicle that shares the wall with mine. I spent the day listening to the construction/demolition/construction. ;-D

I'll never understand the workings of the supervisory mind. It defies all logic!

One of the advantages to being a lab rat is that every day can be Jeans Day.

*wistful sigh* I remember my happier days working at Troy Corp. I'd actually wear shorts when my boss was traveling. :)

How's the house, OT? When's moving day? Did ya get the quote for the sun room?

Oh, it's definitely not you!

This guy is dumb as a box of rocks. Didn't even know what a lemming was.

I shut him off and have him set to ignore forever.

I dunno.

He started the conversation by saying he was from the Caribbean and I joked by typing "You're not going to try and ask me to wire money to a bank account are you?"

It went completely over his head and then he wanted to know where I was from and what I do for a living. He volunteered that he worked as an airline ticket clerk.

I said FLUSA and I'm one of a hundred lemmings.

He just said "what?" and I shut him down.

Thought it may have been someone I know playing a joke, maybe one of you guys here, but it became obvious he was some dude trolling for someone to talk to.
