Dems Counting on Recount
Kerry Campaign Email | 10/4/04 | Mary Beth Cahill

So last week, about an hour before the debate, I heard that the dems were urging folks to immediately contact news organizations so the talking points could get spread virally, so i signed up with a pseudononomous email address. In 4 days I've received 8 emails. Just now I received a pitch to contribute to their RECOUNT fund.

There's no doubt these people are going to drag us through another miserable November, just like they did last time, even if they lose by substantial margins. This should be a wake-up call for our side to work like we're 10 points behind. Here's the email:

Please contribute to our GELAC fund -- pledge that the mistakes of 2000 will NEVER be repeated.

Dear xxx,

Right now I need all of you to join me and make a pledge: the mistakes of the 2000 election will NEVER be repeated again. The day after the election, as the recount began, Al Gore's campaign was already outgunned, outmanned, and outmatched -- we learned one lesson: be prepared. With the race so close in so many states, we need to be prepared for any possibility -- and that means being ready for any recounts.

The Federal Election Commission has just granted our request to raise funds now to cover recount expenses. Your contribution to Kerry-Edwards 2004 GELAC (General Election Legal and Accounting Compliance fund) will provide the resources to make sure we are prepared to win any post Election Day battles.

Make a contribution to our GELAC fund today:

https://contribute.johnkerry.com

Our GELAC fund also pays for the administrative costs at the campaign -- by paying for these expenses with GELAC funds, the campaign is able to spend more of its limited public funds on critical campaign expenses such as media, candidate travel, and direct contact with voters.

Make our public funds more valuable and make sure we are prepared for any possible recount.

Thank you,

Mary Beth Cahill Campaign Manager

Yes, I got a letter from the GOP to contribute to their recount fund.

We cannot ignore this possibility. And don't be so angry at the poor Democrats... I think if my guy had lost Florida by less than 1000 votes, I'd demand a recount, too.

The NYT has prepared two headlines for November 3: one says "Kerry Wins" and the other says "Bush Steals Another ONE!" Liberals hate democracy, which is obvious from the way they run things when they come to power.

Although not directly related to the original post, it does remind me of something laughable about the ’00 election. How many times have any of you heard a lefty claim that Bush was “installed” by the courts, or “selected, not elected?” What most of these lefties are too stupid to grasp is who took the ’00 election to the courts. And that who was Albert Gore. Yes, Gore wanted the courts to “select” him as president.

NEVER FORGET THIS FACT!

With Florida -

The one article reported that forms are coming in not completely filled out - this means those people are not really registered and won't be able to vote. Shouldn't the election officials be able to put out a large public notice(listing names) warning citizens of this - so these people can check and make sure. And if there is a group turning in these forms - why not make them responsible for correcting the problem - put the blame where it belongs(like are they giving poor instructions for a reason)

Prevention is the best cure - if everything is thought out ahead of time - and delt with - this will leave the ones planning fraud out in the cold, if you will - or at least cut down on the number

There is time to do this - Getting the public aware in mass will help -

Like with Ohio - put out a public notice for people to be aware of "where" they are registered to vote (and if they aren't sure, it will be up to them to do so well before the election) - this should cut down on the "fraud" people being able to use that group as a way to get the vote count into the courts -

just my thoughts -

I hope that the American public realizes that what the DNC is setting up here with these state-by-state recounts is the political equivalent of the Von Schlieffen Plan. For those of you who don't know your WW1 history, the Von Schlieffen Plan was the German General Staff's highly detailed plan for launching an invasion of France. It was based on the assumption that in any European war, Germany would have to fight France (at some point), and so the best chance for victory would come with a rapid mobilization, followed by a quick knockout punch. Only one problem, when war came it started in the Balkans. The German Army didn't have a plan for that, so they just went on auto-pilot and launched a war on France. So basically instead of a minor German intervention into Serbia, you got general hostilities in Europe with every major country being sucked in.

The DNC has embarked on their swing-state recount strategy. They've raised the money, secured the poll watchers, hired the lawyers -- and most importantly, have laid the groundwork for the political argument with their supporters. I basically think that any Democrat who went to see Michael Moore's movie will believe anything, and argue it in the face of the facts. Now ANYTHING that happens will be challenged, just because it CAN and the machinery is locked & cocked. Even if Bush wins comfortably, a multi-state challenge might deny him the 270 EV's that he needs for election for quite some time. And the MSM will tell us with a straight-face that there are 'legitimate questions about the fairness of the balloting in (fill-in the state names here).' IMO, this WILL happen because it can't be stopped.

What she is saying here is that the DNC plans to never underestimate the amount of fraudulent votes they need to win.

We need to win this in a major landslide way. If it's not close they can't cheat

How Democrats Steal Elections - Top 10 Methods of Liberal Vote Fraud

1. Over-Voting. In Democrat strongholds like St. Louis, Philadelphia and Detroit, some precincts had 100% of their registered voters voting, with 99% of the ballots going to Gore. Clearly, multiple voting resulted in extra tallies for Gore in the 2000 election. (New York Post, 12/09/00).

2. Dead Voters. This classic Democratic method of vote fraud goes all the way back to 1960 in Chicago and Dallas. The 2000 election was no exception. In Miami-Dade County, for example, some of the 144 ineligible votes (those which officials actually admitted to) were cast by dead people, including a Haitian-American who's been deceased since 1977 (Miami-Herald, 12/24/00).

3. Mystery Voters. These "voters" cast votes anyway but are not even registered to vote. In heavily Democratic Broward County, for example, more than 400 ballots were cast by non-registered voters. (Miami-Herald 1/09/01)

4. Military ballots. Many of these votes were disqualified for the most mundane and trivial reasons. At least 1,527 valid military ballots were discarded in Florida by Democratic vote counters (Drudge Report, 11/19/00).

5. Criminals. Felons are a natural Democratic voter and they're protected on voter rolls across the country. In Florida at least 445 ex-convicts - including rapists and murderers -- voted illegally on November 7th. Nearly all of them were registered Democrats. (Miami-Herald 12/01/00)

6. Illegal aliens. These voters have long been a core liberal constituency, especially in California. In Orange County in 1996, Rep. Bob Dornan had his congressional seat stolen from him when thousands of illegal aliens voted for Loretta Sanchez (Christian Science Monitor, 9/2/97).

7. Vote-buying. Purchasing votes has long been a traditional scheme by Democrats, and not just with money. In the 2000 election in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Democratic workers initiate a "smokes-for-votes" campaign in which they paid dozens of homeless men with cigarettes if they cast ballots for Al Gore (Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, 11/14/00).

8. Phantom Voters. These voters don't really exist, but their ballots do. In the 1996 Lousiana Senate race, GOP candidate Woody Jenkins had the election stolen from him when he discovered that 7,454 actual votes were cast but had no paper trail to authenticate them (Behind the Headlines, F.R. Duplantier, 4/27/97).

9. Dimpled chads. Those infamous punch-cards were a ballot bonanza for Al Gore. Democratic poll workers in Palm Beach, Dade and Broward counties tampered and manipulated thousands of ineligible ballots and counted them for Gore, even though no clear vote could be discerned. (NewsMax.com 11/27, 12/22, 11/18, 11/19/00).

10. Absentee ballots. Normally it's assumed that Republicans benefit from absentee ballots. But in the case of Miami's 1997 mayoral election, hundreds of absentee ballots were made for sale or sent out to non-Miami residents. Fraud was so extensive in the race that the final results were overturned in court (FL Dept. of Law Enforcement Report, 1/5/98)."
