John Kerry talks like Judas Iscariot(VANITY)
My own semifunctional brain | October 1, 2004 AD | Me, myself, and I

Posted on 10/01/2004 12:43:00 PM PDT by Sola Veritas

While watching the debate last night, Senator Kerry said something that sounded familiar to me - something I had heard or read before - but at first I couldn't remember.

The question by Lehrer was:

LEHRER: New question, two minutes, Senator Kerry.

"Colossal misjudgments." What colossal misjudgments, in your opinion, has President Bush made in these areas?

Senator Kerry had a long response, but one part of it caught my attention. It was:

"And so, today, we are 90 percent of the casualties and 90 percent of the cost: $200 billion -- $200 billion that could have been used for health care, for schools, for construction, for prescription drugs for seniors, and it's in Iraq."

It was the usual liberal line that we should have spent this great amount of money on the poor etc., not on war. Well, this line of rhetoric has always bothered me, because I know it to be disingenious - that money would not be spent as he indicated. However, I still had this nagging feeling that I had heard similiar rhetoric from some infamous character in history. I then remembered Judas Iscariot.

There is a story told in the 12th Chapter of the Gospel of John where a women anoints Jesus' feet using a costly vial of perfume. Judas was incensed. The Bible account follows:

3 Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil.

4 But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, who would betray Him, said,

5 "Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hunred denarii and given to the poor?"

6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it.

John 12:3-6 (New King James version)

Obviously, one cannot compare financing a war to annoiting Christ's feet. However, the way both men reacted to the "waste of money" is strangely the same.

Nope, I am serious. The same lying greed of Judas is evident in Kerry.

If crap like this bugs you, hit the abuse button.

I am not thrilled with the content, but at least it looks like a vanity should and has more thought in it than a single line POS vanity that seems to be the rule today, 10/1.

I've noticed that, too. But Officer Barbrady isn't nearly as stoopid.

Actually, I think that whining to the mods should be a last resort.

"Bugs" me? No, I just think it is ridiculous.

If you watch the debate while listening to "Dark Side of the Moon", side two, Kerry can be seen lipsynching perfectly to "Brain Damage".

Ouch, Judas Iscariot? Not even just Grima Wormtongue, or Joseph Goebbels, or Baghdad Bob...?

Tough on the guy, alright.

"Why don't you (use this money) to feed the poor?"

"Oooookay. Been printing any flyers lately?"

You will have to excuse me, like President Bush I am a plain man of simple speech. I don't understand the insult or joke. Would you please explain?

It is also strange how so many people take offense whenever someone brings up scripture.

My father used to say, "if you throw a rock into a pack of dogs, the one who barks loudest is the one that got hit."

I believe everything is about why. It is the difference between killing in self defence and cold blooded murder. That said, I think you are spot on, especially with you last comment:

"This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it."

That is basically the same "why" which motivates Kerry's statment.

Yes, I think you are spot on.

ROFLMAO! I thought when he was doing his bit about the "global test" he was actually lipsynching to Cat Stevens' "Peace Train." But you may be right.

I would put your comparison on a par with the recent flyers claiming that Democrats will ban the Bible.

I see him as 'Judas' also but for different reasons.....but I think your POV has merit.

First of all Kerry didn't get the cost accurate....It's closer to 120 Billion. And how can he compare fighting a war on terrorism with those liberal issues.....healthcare, education, etc......none of rhat matters is our kids and out cities are getting blown up by terrorists!

Kerry has the look and actions of a Judas!

Kerry betrayed all Vietnam Veterans by his false testimony in the Senate (1971) calling them 'war criminals', rapists & baby killers.

His words were used by the Viet Cong to torture American POWs to force them to sign confessions for acts they did not commit.

Kerry betrayed all Americans fighting in Vietnam.
Kerry is the:

Kerry is UNFIT FOR COMMAND!

Remember his betrayal when you vote on November 2, 2004.

"I would put your comparison on a par with the recent flyers claiming that Democrats will ban the Bible."

Ok, now I get the insult/joke. Rest assured, I am not of that type. That would be an extreme exageration. I just wanted to show the similarities between Judas' rhetoric and Senator Kerry's. It is true though that I am a conservative Christian evangelical - but I don't think all democrats are evil (possible manly misguided?). There are plenty of republicans that are also.

Agree with you. It IS all about money and power and the bad guys who are greedy and selfish will always use and twist any rationale available to explain why they want money to be put in one place over another. The men who where mad at the woman who "wasted" perfume on Christ's anointing, the value of a year's worth or work - The evil men hated Christ receiving something that they wanted. Same with dems - they hate seeing money going to oppressed people in far away countries that they care nothing about. They want that money to feather their power base. They are always hypocrites, always suspect, nothing good and honest comes from their mouths. There are two types of people in the world - one will rush into a burning building to rescue a stranger and the other will look the other way and hope no one noticed.
