Dog Discovers Human Skull

A dog made a gruesome discovery in a south side field on Monday morning.
While combing the woods, the dog came across a human skull.
It happened off off South Presa Street, near the A G E Refinery.
Employees at the jet fuel refinery tell News 4 WOAI they have several security dogs who always comb the woods looking for animals. But on Monday, one of those dogs found parts of a human body.
"I mean, I have never seen a live human skull like that before, so it was pretty shocking," said Chris Besinaiz.
The dog came out of the woods with a skull in its mouth and caught the attention of a plant supervisor.
Police then tracked down the rest of the remains in a wooded area near the A G E Refinery.
"It made me sick. I felt kind of weird looking at it. I had never seen that before," said Ernest Chavez.
Police combed the woods and searched by air for any clues.
They're hoping to find some teeth in the field that could help them identify the person through dental regards. Otherwise, they don't have much to go on.
"We have scattered human remains. That's about all we know right now. We have no idea about the age, the sex or anything like that at this point," said Detective April Titus.
So for now, all police have is some scattered bones, while some employees are left with some disturbing memories.
"I just feel sorry for the person, and its family, that that person belonged to," said Besinaiz.
Police say the remains have been left in the field for several months, and they aren't sure they'll ever be able to make a positive ID.
I think it was dead.
I've never heard of a live human skull before.
