Communism is stronger, more powerful, and more deadly than at any other point in history. Yet most people believe that Communism died with the Soviet Union. Nothing could be further from the truth. Communism is accelerating its drive toward total world domination, and will not stop until it either attains total victory or goes down in total defeat.

We did win the Cold War.
The Soviet Union itself no longer exists.
And no-one trusts the communists.
Ask the people in eastern europe what they think of the communists, nad you'll hear alot of epithets and statements questioning the communists parentage.

What's the Russian strategic nuclear warhead count today? What was the count in 1989?

bump for later

I used to have Golytsins book, it was an interesting read, he declared in the early 80's that the Berlin Wall would come down, and that Andropov would be replaced with a more relaxed leader, and what he predicted came true to an extent.

Um, ok. If the Soviets only "duped" us into thinking we won the Cold War, someone sure forget to tell e.g. the Lithuanians, the Latvians, the Poles, the Estonians, the Czechs, the Georgians, the Ukrainians, the Uzbeks, and.. well.. the Russians.

The only sane response to this article is "LOL".

Anything based on the assertions of Anatoliey Golitsyn is supect, as he has been thoroughly discredited in the eyes of intelligence professionals today. Golitsyn claimed that every single KGB defector that came after him would be controlled by KGB, sent to spread disinformation. Very convenient.

He also claimed that the China-Soviet split was a lie cooked up to fool the West. Golitsyn was a disaster and probably clinically paranoid. He is indirectly responsible for an incredibly damaging molehunt through CIA in the 1960's and 1970's that never turned up a mole, but did destroy the careers of numerous CIA officers.

I have no special knowledge. All this is available in books you can get at the library.

Nosenko was almost certainly a legitimate defector. The CIA committed one of the worst acts in its history when they out him in a special prison at their training center for about four years without trail. It was an awful way to treat a defector, even one you suspected.

This article is rather poorly written and researched. Ames was not a "major figure" at CIA. He was a middle-management guy whom no one respected as a case officer.

It is complete nonsense to claim communism is stronger than ever. What evidence could possibly support such an absurd conclusion? Their armed forces are in shambles often not even paid; they have lost huge swathes of their territory; the satellite nations are hostile and independent and now part of NATO. E. Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Albania are all snuggling up to the West and the US and they face an intractable set of terrorist lunatics.

Not only is the country NOT stronger than ever it is so weak it may be in danger of causing more problems through its weakness than it did while strong.

As for the infiltration of the CIA one should be aware that Angleton's paranoia may come from the FACT that his best friend was Kim Philby for many years who he trusted implicitly. So I would have to say that his judgment was not the best.

The insidious, anti-American Russia advocacy crowd is particularly nasty, and eventually, we each see the agenda behind their ostensible agenda. They don't deserve more than a copy&paste.

The author of the original, long article posted here is to be commended in spite of the subsequent "know-it-alls"' disparaging remarks.

I am reminded of a story in the Old Testament where an old man is building an ark while simultaneously preaching to all of the wicked and lost around him. He is warning them to repent among other things.

He was laughed and scoffed at and I am sure it must have been difficult for him to persevere; but persevere he did. Then after the completion of the ark and the realization (by Jehovah God) of universal impenitence of all those around Noah, except for he, himself, his wife, their three sons and their wifes; when it began to rain 40 days and 40 nights, those scoffers stopped scoffing and began "coughing" -- the kind of coughing that accompanies drowning and perishing (and one can deduce where their souls wound up as well). The Bible says that only 8 souls were saved.

Barring judgment day in the here and now; if the strategies and tactics of the Soviet (or Russian) espionage and subversion rings are not reversed, then we shall lament that we did not believe in, and act against, what has transpired before us during these last 70 odd years (and we cannot feign ignorance; we were warned) and chose to do nothing to stop this when and while we had the chance. Not only refused to believe and act, but as in the old testament - scoffed.

It amazes me the power of deception of those destroying us but even more am I amazed (and disgusted) at the capacity for self-delusion among the victims. The victims must have been willing. But as Solomon said several millenia ago, "There is nothing new under the sun."
