I wish the Bush team would do some ads on this topic. The country needs to know who is really pushing for the draft. They need to run counter ads on MTV
"Fear of being drafted to fight in Iraq - "by Bush" - is something that could mobilize the college kids in important numbers for Kerry."
Absolutely! In fact the 1980 election of Reagan was probably one of the few times that 90% of the college kids voted against the 90% liberal professors. Jimmy Carter talked about using the draft in his 1980 State of the Union address.
President Jimmy Carter reinstated the Selective Service registration requirement in the summer of 1980. (http://www.sss.gov
We do not need a draft. According to the military leaders that I saw meeting on cspan2 channel: recruiters are more than meeting their quotas and have a waiting list, while re-enlistments are also beyond their current goals.
BINGO! That is a fact that is highly UNDERreported.
The Pubbies are doing a lousy job countering this. All you need is 1 ad with Kerry whining about the draft, and a list of those draft bills, and their sponsors (with a nice big "D" next to their name).
Fat Al is too busy spanking the monkey to slap the donkey..
That's very rude. If you don't like the thread, maybe you shouldn't be posting on it? The purpose of the thread is to have folks who have something to add to this topic to discuss it. If you don't have the self-control to ignore threads you don't like, maybe you should keep it to yourself? Your post sure didn't add to the topic.
