Isn't Rangel the one who kind of looks like Al Sharpton with short hair?

One has to wonder if this too will back fire on Kerry's 'favorability' rating. I mean we wanted Dean cause of all this type of wacky stuff..well, we seem to have gotten him.

Here, where I live there was a political rally during which Senator Dan Inouye warned the youths that a vote for Bush would bring back the draft. The dems are trying to scare the young voters.

All mention of reviving the draft has come from the left.

Me too, and I also get a perverse kick out of Sharpton. I voted for him thirteen times in the moveon primary last year. Good times. You have no idea how much I was hoping we could freep him to a win in that.

There is a problem with our side making a lot of noise about a draft.

That is, it's conceivable that we will need to revive the draft in the coming years. Coming down strongly with 'no draft on my watch' makes the GOP (if admittedly not Dubya who can't run for office in 2008) more vulnerable on the issue than we need to be.

There's an EASY TV ad to counter this stupid charge. Just run a black background and list these names while the voice over says "What two things do all of these members of Congress all have in common?

1. They're all Democrats
2. They're all onboard to re-instate the draft

How many Republicans have joined them?

NONE."

Then, cut to Kerry's face and have the voice-over conclude "Then why is Kerry trying to scare us into think it's Bush that wants to re-instate the Draft?" Fade-out.

Are you saying I should get rid of my Al Sharpton yard dolls?

Aw shucks.

I was so hoping Al would slap that donkey all the way to the White House.

Oh well, all is not lost.

YARD SALE!

Agreed, subtely passive aggresive I like it. You should submit your idea to the RNC or Bush campaign or both.

Yes. This lie needs to be addressed.

Fear of being drafted to fight in Iraq - "by Bush" - is something that could mobilize the college kids in important numbers for Kerry.

This is one of the reasons why I have always said that Karl Rove is luckier than he will ever be good. It would have been easy enough to just knock down all this draft talk by having someone from the Bush campaign point out that it was Gargles the Clown (aka Charlie Rangel) who first proposed the return of the draft because he wanted to make sure more rich white boys are sent to war. Why? He hopes that if white boys instead of only black and brown boys die, it will make white voters revolt against further military action.

I am not making this up.

I can't understand why Rove would let this slander spread across the country the way he has. What is he waiting for? CBS News to expose the Kerry Kamp's lies?

Let me interject at this point that I am black.

Exactly! And it ought to be run wall-to-wall in the districts that those reps are from. Perhaps our side can win back some of those seats at the same time.
