Yes, Bowles has led comfortably in every poll since he announced his candidacy. James Carville is breathing a sigh of relief after he claimed on the afternoon of the 2002 general election that Bowles was beating E. Dole in NC. Bowles is helped by his wealth and name ID. Also, helping Bowles is the popularity of the NC Democrat governor, who is also on the ballot this year.

I dont know for sure, but I wouldnt doubt it...Bowles tried to buy it when Mrs Dole ran and lost from good ole fashioned campaigning..... we hate him, as much as we hate Edwards....but they are running a powerful campaign to get Clintonites back in to "await" the return of HitlerLY

I don't get why Bowles is leading. Sure he has name id...but NC voters just rejected him in 2002. What's so great about Bowles two years later??

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that Bowles is going to win, partially based on his campaign's ads depicting his opponent as a BIG SPENDER. The very thought of a liberal being able to level that charge at a Republican makes me think that maybe the good people of NC are starting to recognize that "big government" types are not necessarily restricted to a single party and are merely voting the conscience of their wallets.
