I have an odd question.
Just off the top of my head.

If you are taking flak, you are probably over the target.

France? Germany? Enemies?
First I'd question your definition of "enemy". Sure we've had some disagreements with France, but they are not the enemy. I know that it is entertaining to poke fun at them. Globalist? Yep. Socialist? OK. But, not an enemy.

General George McClellan, the Democratic candidate against Lincoln in 1864. As an antiwar candidate, he was liked by European countries that wanted the US permanently split and weakened through a negotiated peace with the Confederacy. European scruples as to slavery easily yielded to anti-Americanism.
McClellan would have won, except that Sherman took Atlanta and marched through Georgia, thereby demonstrating that Lincoln and the North would soon win the Civil War. After losing the election, McClellan and his wealthy wife exiled themselves to Europe and routinely made anti-American comments.
Not only does Kerry remind one of McClellan, but, like the Civil War, the complicated and difficult Terror War has aggravated divisions in American society. Can Rummy and CentCom come up with a victory of some sort by the middle of next month, just for insurance?

Carter also actively sought help from the Soviets to defeat Regan.
