I have a gripe with the "news" networks and I hope everyone will join me in getting the networks to resolve it.
Nearly everytime a politician has a news conference, the reporters' questions are completely inaudible to the viewing public. We get to hear the pols' answers, but seldom get to hear how or from whom the question was asked or framed (which can be equally important IMO).
I just wrote to every email address at FNC (but it was the same on CNN and MSNBC) about the appalling inaudibility of the reporters' questions at Kerry's Florida news conference today. (Not that I even wanted to hear what Kerry had to say, but.....)
I mean, the viewing public should demand that the networks at least have a directional mic available so we (and the poor Closed Captioner) can hear what new or old innane question the network airheads are asking. This is the 21st Century after all. Is it too much to ask that we be allowed to hear the entire (ie both sides) of a major news conference???
Let's Freep all the networks (and Political Parties) with our complaints. Just maybe they'll do something about it.
I don't think it was the networks problem. I'd consider that part of the 'Home Field Advantage'. You want me for a press conference follow my rules. A new low for journalism.
I also think that the reporters should have to say their name and who they work for. They can be responsible for their questions or rudeness.
I posted this to the News/Activism threads, yet now 'someone' has moved it to General/Chat forum. What reason could some (moderator?) have to move my post? Doesn't my original post 'qualify' for news/activism???
