California has shown, once again, that it is irrelevant. Kerry got its 55 electoral votes, and it wasn't enough.

California had a number of Baaaad propositions on the ballot. They ended up as a mixed bag this morning. The stem-cell research funding bond passed by a wide margin. However, the proposition to weaken our three-strikes felony law FAILED, which is very good news. Had it passed, there would have been about 26,000 felons (convicted of a third, but non-violent crime) would have been released. These people had two previous violent felony convictions, but their third felony was non-violent, so the bleeding hearts thought that they didn't deserve their 25 to live sentence. HELLO. These are career criminals. They are exactly where they belong.

George Soros funded this proposition to the tune of $500,000. One has to wonder why this one was important to him.

I think that folks overlook the steady movement south that has resulted in the new state of AliFloriGa that has 51 Electoral votes which at least for now nearly offset California.

In Florida, the Bush effort yesterday was absolutely amazing. A friend went out for the afternoon and when she returned at sundown had at least 9 calls urging her to vote Republican. I figured things were going well when most voters, especially the young ones, waved at my Bush signs and gave the "thumbs up" signal.
