As a child in the 1940's, I once took the train from Atlanta to Florida to visit relatives in January. The train was filled with "snowbirds" going to winter in south Florida, was a wonderful way to travel, and its passenger cars extended well over a mile of track. The breakfasts were magnificent.

Back in the day when folks wore their best clothes, and really styled out whenever they traveled - it was a big deal to most people.
