Many L.A. Republicans view placing a Bush-Cheney bumper-sticker on one's car, on the other hand, as an act of courage akin to storming the beaches at Normandy. Stories abound of cars defaced by a keying job just because the owner had the temerity to hang a Republican sign in his rear window. I have avoided placing any bumper stickers on my innocent SUV. It should not suffer any hate crimes because of my right to free speech. (besides, I just spent 700 dollars on new tires!)

A liberal friend of mine took me to see that movie when it was at the theaters. I'm glad he paid for the ticket, because I would have been pissed to waste my money on it. *L* He enjoyed the movie. The special effects were okay, but the apology to Mexico was so stooooooooopid. Yeah, it's only completely ARROGANT HUMANISTS who would assume that horrible planetary storms are caused by SUV drivers in the USA. Man is so powerful.

Poll watchers you mean? No....we are going to be voter intimidating Poll Challengers.....an official title.
If something is obviously fishy we can, for good cause, meaning violation of election law, challenge a voter or their vote. It would go to a special place (hopefully hot and painful) and would only be re-considered in the event of a close race.....and then it would be up to the Dem lawyers.
We are looking forward to it with great joy.

This will be my first time as an actual poll worker. At training we were told we would be cussed at and abused. I figured that'd make it pretty much like a normal day.
The last election I did poll watching for early voting, but on election day I was counting absentee ballots, so was out of the fray, but for the occasional hysterical RAT coming in shrieking about blacks being intimidated, ballots running out in black precincts (couldn't be because the morons kept spoiling the ballots, could it?), blah, blah, blah. It will be different dealing with large numbers of voters in the polling place.

We've never done anything like this. Our local GOP head said that the Bush/Cheney campaign has insisted this be the highest priority, holding as correct and legal a vote as possible, so we volunteered. They gave us training.......everybody was stoked at the training session.
I think (hope) one of the side effects of the Democrat anger, fraud, and general nastiness has been to generate a strong, yet calm anger from our side.

Oh, I'm plenty angry. I don't know that I'd describe myself as particularly calm about it, unless you're defining "calm" as not firing guns into democRAT headquarters or resisiting the urge to slap people who have Kerry stickers on their vehicles.
