Hey, I have a dopey question about the Grand Canyon....actually a bunch of them.

What is the normal weather, temperature, etc. for the weekend after the election?

More dopey questions if you can answer this one......

My pleasure about pumpkins! Glad you laughed!

I saw the temps for Flagstaff and Page this morning and it's getting pretty cold up there day-time. Grand Canyon will be the same. This time of year, it's 59 - 62 F during the day and anywhere from 35 - 47 F at night on the South Rim. The South Rim is warmer than the North. It's about 6600 feet on the south and over 8000 on the north.

Well, I tried most everything else to repel the deer, so your receipe is being copied.

A big light and a crossbow and you can have them in the freezer without the neighbors being any the wiser.

Thanks everyone, I have all the information I need now. I will see if I like this cooking gig and get as good at it as Swerve and Loddy, When I do, I will think about preserving my efforts.

I like yellow too Val, it is so sunny and makes a change from the usual white.

That's colder than here...

I thought you were supposed to have this warm climate.

What am I missing here?

"The SOUTH RIM is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Services are available and facilities are open year round.

Visitor services and facilities inside the national park on the NORTH RIM are only open from mid-May to mid-October. Weather permitting, the North Rim is open for day use only following the close of facilities in mid-October. During this time there are no services or overnight facilities available inside the park. For the 2004 season, visitor services and facilities inside the national park on the North Rim will be open from May 10 - October 14, 2004.

The high altitude of both the South and North Rims may cause visitors with respiratory or heart problems to experience difficulties. All walking at this elevation can be strenuous."

Hahhahhahah! Yep... but it's a dry cold like someone here said! Aren't you at sea level or close to it? It's the high elevations here, I think. And the Coke (Coconino) is always very cold. I'll never forget the six foot long, twelve inches wide icicles I saw there one year. Didn't wrap those around me!

SEDONA, ARIZONA

"Sedona, Arizona, 2 hours drive north from burgeoning Phoenix and 90 miles south of the Grand Canyon, lies amidst an ancient forest of juniper and pine, surrounded by the celebrated sculptured pinnacles and mystical vortexes of Arizona Red Rock Country.

One of America's premier tourism, recreation, arts, and cultural centers, Sedona enjoys a moderate elevation of 4,500 ft., escaping the desert heat of southern Arizona and mountain snows to the north, with either just a short drive away. Four delightfully mild seasons' with average annual daily temperatures of 74 and 46 degrees, and total annual precipitation of only 17 inches makes for an ideal getaway destination year round."

Hmmmm.....

Anything good to visit in those warm climate areas?

BTW......not sea level......Lake level....as in Great Lakes. But not mile high stuff either.

Swerve, these things have become so bold that you don't even need the light - they're wandering around during broad daylight! I forgot to mention that somehow a flock of wild turkey has taken up residence in the NW Hills area - can the timber wolf be far behind?

Oh yeah, the 'possums and raccoons are well represented also. Not to leave any critters out.

Since I've taken over the cooking operation (grilling) here, I've been pleasantly surprised with both the ease of it, and the quality of the results.

Just purchase top-notch ingredients, read the directions, and voila - a feast in your own home.

A high quality thermometer is our friend in this venture.

A grill with Low, Medium, High, Ooops I Burned the Dog Out of It - won't do.

Driving near your neighborhood I saw some turkey vultures feasting on a roadkill possum in the front yard of a nice house.
