Thanks for the linkage to a lovely lunch.
When a litter of kittens, or puppies, are very young, they will stay all balled up, like when they were inside mommy.
Unbelievably precious at that age.
Now go get a free CostCo demo lunch and work the list.
I decide I am going to try my hand at cooking instead of eating out all the time.
The big problem is, what do you do with the beer now that the frig is filled with leftovers?
Morning lib report: was driving Iceman's (hubby's) car this am, minding my own beeswax. Angry liberal who had been behind me and seen Iceman's bumper sticker "Annoy a Liberal: work hard, succeed, be happy" veered around me to cut me off. His car had UT plates, and was full of Lurch, Darwin, femi-nazi and other lib stickers. Not only cut me off in fast lane, then made sure to drive under the limit for several miles. I finally had an opening in the slow lane to get around him. I widely smiled at him when I passed, angering him even more.
Score: BQ - 2 Libs - 0
...and by the way, the a fabulous photo of your backyard!
I just love annoying angry liberals. I hope they get ulcers.
Soooooooooooo handsome. I forgot - do you have four or five?
I love parking next to their traitor cars at Commie Joe's and Sunflower Market.
Just three. The chubby domestic shorthair tabby (short legs, too), the long haired, black and white cat (also a BIG cat), and the red tabby Maine Coon. I haven't put a photo of her on the server for hosting yet. She's the oldest - 15, arthritis, chronic kidney insufficiency. I just had her groomed a week ago, and the groomer had to shave some of her fur - her tummy, and her hiney needed shaving. She just can't keep herself very clean anymore. Other than that, she's doing well, still seeks out attention and food.
Wow. Shanxi (the one in the fireplace yesterday) is our oldest - about 14. She's the Alpha Cat and still spry, though I watch her closely. The next two are about ten, and then they go down in age to two years. Tank is the largest - about 17 pounds and I have to give him baths. I like the Maine Coons - never had one.
This is Maia, the Maine Coon. She is in her favorite empty box which I placed underneath her favorite chair. She's very shy, and is always looking for a hidey-hole. She's bigun, about 14 pounds.
WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
That's quite a collection. I'd like to have more, but we keep them inside, and there is a limit. I had a cat (Petra) that looked just like Val's Saki. She was pretty old, and died a little more than 4 years ago. One of these days I plan to get another Siamese kitten. She was such a sweet, charming little friend. she was also a rescued cat, probably about five years old when I got her. She was maybe 15 - 16 when she died.
Shanxi came from a Vietnam vet who already was overloaded with kitties... he was such a compassionate man. I'm hoping she makes it to 22 - 24 like our family cat did (24). Our house is 2,000 square feet, we have window perches, sliding glass doors they can look out of, lots of quiet corners with pillows, and tons of cat towers. One of these days we want to build tunnels and walkways by the ceiling.
Seven are indoors unless I am supervising, Fluffy lives outside all the time in his little cat house, and Colette is allowed in and out. I already lost two precious boys to cars over the years, and never want to repeat that trauma. Fluffy has to be outside because he came from an abusive home, adopted us, but still sprays if he comes in even though he's neutered.
You get one of the vacuum packaging machines and a freezer, and then in a few weeks you take the leftovers out and have an instant meal. We now routinely cook for six and bag the extras. That way we only have to cook about one day in three, and we have a month's worth of instant meals ready if we are feeling poorly.
