Apologies up to Arkansas!

"Fedgov needs to get completely out of education and return it to the local level"

Couldn't agree more. I don't see it ever happening though. Too many people dependent on the system at so many levels.

One thing I have found is that the schools can be real allies in detecting problems that need to be dealt with, but they can also be real busybodies, meddling where they have no business. That is one thing about private schools , at least for the time being. They are much less vulnerable than even homeschools to imposition by the federal government.

"He is soon going to be a dead red headed woodpecker!"

LOL! You should see the size of this woodpecker I have. He's nearly as big as a small squirrel!

"...who actually higher board payments for a special needs child is actually quite low" should read:

"...who receive higher board payments for a special needs child is actually quite low.

Funny you should mention that. I was thinking about it actually.

When I was at Walmart a couple of days ago, they had stocked a bunch of copies of "Unfit for Command." Today, they are all gone....well, except for one I happened to see that someone set in a candy bin...which I thoughtfully replaced on it's appropriate (well, almost) shelf....right in front of Michael Moore's Farenheit 911.

I'm going tomorrow to see Team America. I'm not a big fan of raunchy, animated or puppet comedy, but I've seen so many positive comments about it, I just have to see it. And I do like the occasional episode of South Park. Sometimes they're pretty funny.

You'll have to report. I don't like South Park raunch, but I hear it's so good at skewering Hollywood liberals that it might be worth it........besides I need a good liberal stomping venting mechanism......

You report......we decide??????

We look forward to your movie review tomorrow - I also have read good comments about it, but when I saw an ad on the tellie, it did not make me want to dash out to a theater post haste.

Works for me. I figure it'd be worth it just to see the demise of the leftists we love to hate....especially the explosion of Michael Moore.

The phone rang. The lady of the house answered, "Yes?"
"Mrs. Ward, please." "Speaking." "Mrs.Ward, this is
Doctor Jones at the Medical Testing Laboratory. When
your Doctor sent your husband's samples to the lab,
the samples from another Mr. Ward were sent as well
and we are now uncertain which one is your husband's.
Frankly, it is either bad or terrible."

"What do you mean?" Mrs. Ward asked.

"Well, one Mr. Ward has tested positive for
Alzheimer's and the other for AIDS. We can't tell
which is your husband's."

"That's terrible! Can we do the test over?" questioned
Mrs. Ward.

"Normally, yes. But Medicare won't pay for these
expensive tests more than once."

"Well, what am I supposed to do now?"

"The people at Medicare recommend that you drop your
husband off in the middle of town. If he finds his way
home, don't sleep with him."

The Washington Times | 16 Oct 2004 | Staff

West Palm Beach, FL, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- President George W. Bush signed legislation Saturday requiring the State Department to monitor anti-Semitism around the world, the White House said.

The Global Anti-Semitism Awareness Act was sponsored by California Democratic Representative Tom Lantos, a Holocaust survivor.

Under the legislation the State Department would be required to form a special office to monitor anti-Semitism, produce an annual report on anti-Semitism, rate countries annually on the treatment of Jews and make recommendations for action to correct anti-Semitism practices.

The White House announced Bush's action in Florida, where he was campaigning Saturday.

That's what I mean by it's never going to stop....any of it. It's just a question of who will bring us under totalitarian tyranny the fastest. I haven't seen many rollbacks of big government in the past 4 years; have you? I will vote for the president because I like him and he is infinitely better than the alternative, but the bottom line is that we're screwed.

Exactly the sentiment that the other guy posted, except he chose another verb (which doesn't play too well here.)

It IS time for massive blue thingies.

Cheers up there.
