"He says that the media here has no idea how well Iraq is coming along."

By design. They don't WANT to know.

I wonder if any of us will be alive when this election is finally "decided?"

algore did a very bad thing when he un-conceded...even Nixon had the decency, and concern for the Republic, that he declined to challenge all the corpses that voted for JFK.

Picture Lake... I will have to remember that.

Years ago, at Ranier N.P. I took a paved walk a ways up the mountain, is that still there?

Here we had a nice paved one going up Mt. Timpanogos, then the USFS took it out cause skate boarders and roller bladers learned how much fun it was to come down.

"PC will be the death of our country."

PC is just a sanitized name for Marxist tyranny.

"This in my opinion this was an all time low"

Seems that someone in the RAT camp hits a new "all time low" every day any more.....sometimes twice a day.

TACOMA, Wash. -- A widening slick of oil painted the water from Tacoma's Commencement Bay to Vashon Island Thursday with an enormous sheen.

The source of the oil has not yet been determined.

"We're very concerned about the fact that the spill occurred and wasn't reported to us," said Washington Department of Ecology spokesman Larry Altose. Department officials learned of the spill about 1 a.m.

The Coast Guard was expected to be able to use samples of the oil to determine its origin.

Early morning fog apparently made it difficult to determine the extent of the spill, but Altose said the state Department of Ecology and the U.S. Coast Guard set up a joint command post at Point Defiance.

Ferry passengers from south Vashon to Point Defiance reported that the smell of oil was very strong near the south Vashon ferry dock. The spill was initially reported at about an acre in size, but aerial photography from the Sky-KING helicopter showed the spill stretching from Commencement Bay almost the entire length of Vashon Island, about five miles long.

"We can be sure there will be effects on wildlife," said Kathy Fletcher, with People of Puget Sound.

"The biggest problem we've got now is that there's no response going on yet," Fletcher said around noon, 11 hours after the spill was first reported.

No cleanup efforts were apparent around noon, but several boats with containment booms were on the water shortly thereafter.

Others echoed Fletcher's concern.

Maury Island resident Vicki Ward said she was furious that the cleanup effort took so long to get underway.

"I'm watching oil come in in to what has just been determined to be an aquatic reserve ... and now I'm watching it basically be destroyed," she said.

Ward said the area now being fouled by the oil was one of the last remaining eel grass beds in the region.

Once it got started, the cleanup was aided by relatively calm and clear skies Thursday, but the good weather may not last, according to Northwest Cable News forecaster Chris Warren, who said Friday could bring rain and some wind, possibly stirring up and spreading the spill before skimmer boats have a chance to pick it up.

Have you seen this??

I heard about it on Glenn Becks show this morning

Heinz Kerry ended with what she called “a highly effective” remedy for arthritis that drew laughter and some skepticism from the audience.

“You get some gin and get some white raisins — and only white raisins — and soak them in the gin for two weeks,” she said. “Then eat nine of the raisins a day.”

Despite the laughter, Dr. Steven Phillips, director of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Nevada quickly supported the prescription.

Thanks for telling that Sundog. Great story. I feel so bad for those men, they are being Vietnamized already, and if Kerry gets in it will only get worse. The media will have their man, and it will get really dirty..
