.....Westy.....
Hahahhahha! No, I am way too yuppie to be permitted into goth society even though I do lurk on "Right Goths" sometimes, love The Cure, and wear a lot of black :) Not to mention I was supposed to be a mortician, according to a high school career test I took. So, it looks like I ended up on a good thread: gothic types, world travelers, hikers, fisherwomen, gardeners...
Hey now, goths have feelings too ;-)
LS
"A main line railroad runs up over the mountains from the Pacific to Texas and has a stop at a hotel overlooking the canyon..."
What year did you go? That hotel at Divisadero was brand new when I went - I think in '94.
Oops, forgot to tell you about LS. Heh heh heh.
.....Westy.....
Hmmm...must be another hotel then; this one had just been built, and it was right on the rim. It was so odd to see because a new hotel like that wouldn't be allowed in the U.S. in a national park (though there are some existing ones in the Grand Canyon).
......Westy.....
That refreshed my memory - there is the older, historic part of the hotel, and I think where we stayed was a little further east; those rooms were brand new. They dangled right over the edge.
.....Westy...
What do you make of this on a freepers profile

I've been talking with a Goth!
*Getting out my garlic and crucifixes*
Don't.
Anyone who spends that much time on his facial hair is more interested in whiskers (and himself), than in you.
Don't sell yourself short.
Hahahhahah! Those don't work on me; I love garlic and I have crosses everywhere in my house and office. LadyofShalott on the other hand... uh... I don't think those would work on her either since she has several coffins in her house.
Don't worry - when we post our pictures, you'll see. Heh heh heh. I'm an Eddie Bauer/Coldwater Creek/Gap kinda girl when I'm not wearing my fatigues.
Had me worried......mmmmm.....is this lady your friend at work?
One and the same. She permitted me to speak about her today. We are the only two militant right-wingers at work, drowning in a sea of liberals. Our one other ally is moving to Rome.
What makes it so liberal?
If I only knew. I analyze it day in and day out. Not the gov., but about as big as gov. - a corporation that you might expect would be conservative. Even a guy on our team (not Sean Penn guy) who owns guns and pretends to be conservative has insisted this entire time that we went to Iraq for oil. I try to quote Ann Coulter to him ("why not go to war for oil; we need oil... how do the Hollywood celebrities expect to fuel their private jets, how do they expect to get their cocaine delivered?"), but he runs away.
When President Reagan died, no one even mentioned it. LS and I had to sneak down to the cafeteria to watch the funeral.
We enjoy it that way. We usually listen to Rush for his first half hour at lunch.
