(Any Walmart supporters, reader beware.) Well for starters, Walmart systematically went in and destroyed almost every small town in America. They purposely placed the impersonal big boxes at the edges of town, forcing most people to drive there. The gathering places and social structure our towns once had have been displaced. For example, people would gather around the Post Office or hardware store, chat, connect, talk about church, whatever. What do we have now? Not only have many of the main street stores gone under, don't most people just want to get in and out of Mall-Mart as quickly as possible? Yes, it's capitalism, etc. but I also give them credit for the further decay of the fabric of our society.

""I am a hunter". His effort to connect with the commoners, I guess..."

What he failed to mention is that what he hunts for is rich heiresses.

I like and shop at Wal Mart. I especially like to debate freepers who attack the store every time a thread shows up on Wal Mart news. It is always the same old arguments of Wal Mart underpaying their employees to the degree that they must apply for government assistance, of working their employees off the clock, of importing goods from China, of running Mom and Pop stored out of business....blah blah blah.

And I never cease to wonder why otherwise intelligent freepers do not realize why so many hit pieces are written about Wal Mart, and not Target or K Mart or other chain stores.

There is a really simple explanation. There is nothing that the unions want more than to organize workers of Wal Mart, a huge company and a big coup for them. And the unions do a good job of getting negative articles written of the company. And conservative freepers who usually question every thing, usually fall for this line...hook, line and sinker.

Geez, you all should have some sort of entrance exam before people can post articles/vanities the first day they sign up...

What the local Wal-Mart in my area more than anything is better management.
It's weird, it's like the worst possible people to be in management are hired as management..
I've seen other Wal-Marts that have excellent management.
I've seen Wal-Marts that are struggling because teh management is complete..
Well..

I live in between two Wal-marts.
One in Middletown NY, the other in Westfall PA.
The difference is night and day.
Wetsfall, you can actually speak to the employees, get them to laugh, and get answers.
Middletown... the management is akin to some cult.
Any employee that dares speak to customers is pretty much reprimanded.
The statement is always ,"Aren't you supposed to be WORKING?"
(Doesn't matter if the employee was helping a customer..)
This varies by department within that Wal-Mart as well.
The only thing I can think of that would help that store at all is for tehmanagers to be changed.

Hahhahahha, yeah, you're right! Plus, how could I live without laughing hysterically at the stuff you've posted on those threads?

Adds to the ambience I admit.
Still waiting for taotao/taftkald/Martin Ridley to answer the question asked of him..
He probably won't be back under that handle though as he was spotted and pretty much let the cat out of the bag as to who he was.

It seems like (based on my short time here) most of them run away as soon as they've posted and somebody notices?

Some bit part actor was just telling john/john supporters on CSPAN to vote absentee ballots so they could help others get to the polls on election day... correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt an absentee ballot only for those who CAN'T make it to the polls...

This is getting scary!!!

I don't really know never been to Walmart!

All I know what I hear from Paul Harvey how congenial the staff often he reports on how one of the Walmart people gone beyond the mart as an employee!

All I know Moscow on the Hudson won't allow Walmart on the island!

New York City Boycott Walmart Meetup Group
http://boycottwalmart.meetup.com/4/

What destoryed the neighborhood was shopping malls that started in the late 50's

There is something called

Regional Government and Land Control it all started with the NWO who got into each city and had city planners and those lovely little towns that was quaint was destoryed how they had redesigned the parking and meters made it dificult for community Sat days visits and the Malls were so huge to be congenial except for the teens who liked it they could drop out of sight and not be bothered!

Correct, sometimes they run off when someone notices them.
And sometimes they try to wait until no-one is paying attention to them and they come back..
A thread about a youth nudist summer camp had three trolls drop into it.
Of teh three, only one tried to come back.
I saw that, and asked him where he'd been since we clashed in the thread.
He so far has yet to answer.
*ugh*

It was cold and rainy here today. It is getting more colorful, but it was so dry the past couple of months, it won't be as colorful as usual. I was up right at the Missouri border visiting with some of our foster parents. It was a beautiful drive and wouldn't you know....the one time I didn't have my camera with me!

This couple has these cats called Munchkins. Have you ever heard of them? Thar are so cute, but kinda odd looking. They have these little short legs on a standard cat body. They're built like Furby's or something.

What I had a dream about was the way food tasted before the 1970's

these Kerry type invaded middle America and hit our dinner with pre made prep food all.

Years ago there was always a whole Roast turkey, beef, and ham. Home made home fries mash, Fr fries, bake goods, deserts etc.

When you had breakfast there was no hankering afterwards for something because our foods at that time were not hightly processed.

I was thinking of Stouffers as one of many good eateries, they had great veg dishes like augratin potatos, Fried zucini, Okra, the meats were always tasty etc

Care to share your lost taste bud?
