A-haa! The truth comes out! I'm guessing a few of us were rabid enviros when we were teenagers :) I do like John Muir and his writings but I definitely don't like his followers and even when I was "rabid" I detested the Siesta Club. I always liked David Brower (met him a few times); the Siesta Club threw him out of their group several times, so he had to start his own. But yeah, things have totally changed...and I don't think I can be around too many modern day enviros, as you've heard.
p.s. My undergrad degree is Environmental Planning and Mgmt and my grad degree is in renewable natural resources....

I'm listening to the debate on the radio. Kerry is so obnoxious.
25 million abortions in this country because he is concerned about the nonexistant case of a pregnant woman who would die without a partial birth abortion, and the daughter who is raped and impregnated by her father and shouldn't need his permission to get an abortion. In such a case, the father is often the one pressuring the violated daughter to have an abortion and cover his sins. Abortion only compounds such a heinous crime. It does not protect the girl or prosecute the father, but binds them to yet another shared shameful secret -- first the sexual abuse, then the death of a baby. It transforms her from victim to guilty party because, as we are told by Kerry when he refuses to outlaw abortion, it is the woman's right to choose.
I'm shaking in my boots - Lurch said (again) he'd "kill" the terrorists. I'm surprised he isn't calling them freedom fighters. Hard to take someone so botoxed seriously.

John Kerry proudly reminded people that he, too, is a lawyer, not just his running mate. Yeah, that's real endearing, especially when the topic is health care costs.
The local talk radio program following the debate has callers who are sick of Kerry and say Bush won.
The host is saying Kerry's constant use of "ladies and gentlemen" should have been followed by "of the jury" because he sounded like a lawyer every time he talked, which was not in his favor.
You need to be a full time pundit. Or better yet, an op-ed writer for NYT or Washington Compost.
Have you heard anyone (ever) sound as proud to be a lawyer? He must have paid someone to take the Bar for him. When did he have time to go to law school between running with the Commies, fake injuring himself for medals, and hunting rich women?
