Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the last thread we had a great time and were a great help to each other working through lessons and training, horse lamenesses and illnesses, questions and challenges and always just our stories we like to tell.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the last thread, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Maybe "crow hoping" can be the middle ground for my trainer and I. I'll have to see if she'll buy that:')

Thanks for the concern:) This is a discussion Mack and I have been having all evening. He wants me to have cs come and go with me, but I would feel more comfortable by myself.

I have never rode with a man by myself. I don't think that practice is wise. Looks funny to other people. I've had some men who ride want to come, but I always tell them they either need to bring a wife/girlfriend or give me notice so I can find some other women to go with us.
But this is different. And unless he shoots me:), I won't be getting close to him, and we will be on horses, so I'm not worried about him getting hold of me.I will also have the advantage of knowing where I'm at.

Busy day today. If he shows up, I'm riding today with a prospective buyer for Harley.
Then I'm meeting my daughter for lunch and some shopping for our trip to Vegas next week. She works a split shift today, so I'm helping her kill time:)

Isn't this terrible that we have to worry about this sort of stuff. Mack was here yesterday and met the guy, and he'll be here at least when we leave here. So he knows I have a big husband:) The guy seemed like a very decent person. Nice clothes, very polite, around my age, a little younger.

Did you see the guy that posted the picture of the eggs on the High school chat thread? Perhaps I'm just twisted, but I thought that it was hysterical. It's on the first page of comments.
Did you go ahead and get a gun and a carry permit and everything? I am trying to remember if I ever heard, hadn't talked to you about it since the Texas thread.
