Bill Burkett / Marian Carr Knox conflict?

Posted on 09/15/2004 9:07:41 PM PDT by RogerR

First post so be gentle.

Marian Carr Knox says the memos are fake cuz "...there are words in there that belong to the Army, not the Air Guard"

Bill Burkett was a "retired Texas National Guard officer"

If he was the forger wouldn't he have known better? Maybe he faxed the memos but wouldn't it be unlikely that he wrote it?

No, it actually makes more sense. The Texas National Guard means the ARMY National Guard. Bush was in the Air National Guard, a reserve component of the Air Force. The use of Army lingo is consistent with Burkett being the forger.

You know.. I smell a rat in this.. in that she refers to someone possibly seeing a memo that she wrote and changing it. It sounds like she is familiar with Burkett's story and is laying groundwork for supporting it. Someone has to check if there are links between these two people.

You answered your own question

Marian Carr Knox says the memos are fake cuz "...there are words in there that belong to the Army, not the Air Guard"

Bill Burkett was a "retired Texas National Guard officer"

Texas National Guard= Army

Texas AIR National Guard= Airforce

This is also interesting .. from the Washington Post article sourcing this guy .. I hear another shoe falling

In a related development, White House press secretary Scott McClellan hinted that more documents regarding Bush's National Guard service may soon be released. Asked whether officials in the White House have seen unreleased documents, McClellan called that "a very real possibility." Other officials with knowledge of the situation said more documents had indeed been uncovered and would be released in the coming days.

He might not have known better. If, for the sake of argument, we accept his statement that he saw the actual memos, wouldn't he have been party to their recreation? I really do hope he's not the forger or the transmitter because Rather & co. just may have a sob story for the weak-minded. "We can't blame him for trying to get the truth out." This is the first right-minded, honest forger in the history of mankind."

Rather and Burkett---one is a disgruntled two-time loser with mental health problems and one is a former member of the National Guard.

Exactly. After her performance on SeeBS I commented that I thought she may have been contacted before the memos were drafted.
