piperpilot I've only been here for a few days..BUT from what I've figuered out so far, "Bump" does mean to bring it back to the top so folks will see the post and answer to it, and "Ping" means to put your "nic" in the "To" space so that when you want to, it will show up in Red Letters at the top for "Post to You" or something to that effect, so you'll be sure and read the post.. I know I probably made a mess of trying to explain....but so far, thats about all I do know..

A Bump To The Top is just saying that you think a post is great, and important....as if Muttly posted it...just for example.
This will happen to you a lot, as is evidenced by the poor, innocent little Muttly FOOTPRINT at the upper right corner of your screen. This may serve as a reminder that Muttly likes to be fed, petted, and run around with.
Some say that the footprint is for something else, but Muttly couldn't say, because the one time he clicked on it, something did happen, so he ran away.
Also, you may find it useful to lay in a large supply of tinfoil, cheese, moose, series, Hatt-Baby, and kibble...just in case somebody sets you up the bomb.

It has the converted keywords. The new software converts the "group" links (which are obsolete) into the appropriate keyword search. s'cool. Bumping is just a way to pop a topic back into the busy topics view. BTTT means "Back To The Top" and is the same idea. Pinging is to reply to specific people to call their attention to a topic you've found, if you think it will interest them, or if you maintain a ping list (I maintain Gods, Graves, Glyphs at the present time). AFAIK, there is no list of ping lists. Maybe someone here knows otherwise?

In each topic there's a link that says "bookmark". If you click on it, you can edit the bookmark title as needed (which is good, because there's not really an edit function for that, only a delete). Example of a links list (results from "Bookmark" links in topics):
