Uninstall and then reinstall Norton, Internet Explorer and any Office programs you have. That should take care of it.

" without downloading anything"

I'm not sure about that. But, download Mozilla or Firefox. I get no pop-ups, ever. Just a ping when Mozilla blocks one.

Get a program called Spyhunter. Yes it's a downloadable program and yes it does cost money after you get passed the trial phase.

next

Download and use Mozilla Firefox instead of internet explorer.

You can find that browser at www.mozilla.org.

Firefox is great for not allowing popups to begin with and spyhunter is the best thing I have found to kill adware programs.

BTW, I do this for a living so you are getting my professional recommendation.

Feel free to freepmail me if you have any questions.

AFTER doing what ConservativeMan says with the virus scan, get a better browser.

I use Safari, which is a Netscape variant with an optional pop-up blocker. While I use a Mac, I am fairly certain there is a Safari for Win-doze.

(Someone here will be able to tell you!)

Depending on what ISP you use, you may have virus blockersavailable as part of your package.

I use Earthlink and it suits me.

Don't be cheap.

Invest some money in a virus scanning/detection/ elimination program!

MacAffee always has good reliable stuff!

Good luck!

Mozilla FireFox, I just discovered it today from a fellow freeper and it is working beautifully. If you dont want to try that try spybot, use your virus scan software and try a hijack this.

Download Adaware and Spybot Search and Destroy, they're both free and very reputable. It's the only way you will get rid of them.
