Fight over $60k "medical treatments" with tainted L.A. detox doc SEPTEMBER 14--A business associate of rock star Scott Stapp, the Creed frontman, claims that the singer failed to reimburse him $60,000 paid to a controversial Beverly Hills doctor known for his unorthodox drug detox treatments. In a lawsuit filed this month in Florida's Orange County Circuit Court, Jeffrey Cameron contends that he paid Dr. David Kipper "for certain medical treatments received" by Stapp during a three-month period in mid-2002. Cameron, who works for Stapp's management company, does not further describe those treatments in his complaint and he declined to provide additional details in a brief TSG interview. Kipper, who reportedly has a large celebrity clientele, has come under fire for his drug treatment technique, which has involved patients checking into swanky hotels for detox sessions. Last November, the Medical Board of California charged Kipper with gross negligence and unprofessional conduct for, among other things, overprescribing habit-forming drugs and running an illegal detox program. The state action could result in the revocation of Kipper's medical license. Earlier this year, Ozzy Osbourne filed a complaint with the state board alleging that, during 2002 and 2003, Kipper overprescribed him addictive drugs that left him addled and hooked on powerful antipyschotics and tranquilizers. Osbourne told the Los Angeles Times that Kipper charged him $650,000 for his services. (3 pages)
So being a moron makes you not a good guy? Umm, ok.
I have seen most of his interviews and I have always gotten the impression he is just a spiritual guy and doesn't want to fall into the stereotype of the industry. He is tagged as some elitist because of it.
What "Christ-like pose"? The one where he spreads his arms, closes his eyes and leans his head back? I take that as accepting and acknowledging God.... But what do I know.
Your blatant despise of the guy doesnt make me wonder which you think it is... If you come to this conclusion based on a poker show then I guess I have no reason to debate irrationality.
Then im an absolute moron too because I hate cards and dont know any games except War and Solitaire.
My brother doesnt like his music either and he is an evangelical like me. We just have different tastes.
What example can you give me that shows he used Christ for self-serving purposes? Its known Creed was given a label as "Christian Rock" even though Stapp and his fellow bandmates tried as much as they could to claim not...
You make no sense, give me a break. Irrational indeed.
First Stapp supposedly uses Christ for self-serving purposes by singing about him (which a millions people already do right now), you then say he got accused of being a Chrisitan so he said he wasnt a Christian band genre. Its hardly a way to "cash in" for the evengelicals in my opinion...but ok.
Basically, you think he uses Christianity to make money but denies Christianity when they label him that way? Stapp only said he wasnt a Christian band in the sense his only subjects are about salvation and the Bible. He claims his songs are about his personal feelings and spiritial beliefs and for whoever to take what they want from it.
You are judgemental and painting him using a broad brush. You are no longer a rational person to debate about this. You have made your mind up that anyone who sings about God but doesnt claim to be a Christian band is just cashing in on God...
Jesus taught to preach to those not in the choir (in not so many words).... Are you saying Stapp is less of a person if he is trying to accomplish this very instruction without being pigeon holed into a genre only preaching to the choir? Or do you really just have a personality issue with the guy thus you slander him?
Just so you know, I am a Christian and I listen to Christian music. But not phonies like STapp.
Well la-dee-daaa...arent you just the be-all, end-all of Christians in the music industry...
There a good debate tactic, smear the person rather than discuss the issue...
Did Jesus teach us to preach to those not in the choir by LYING!!!
Lying about what? Saying you arent a "Christian" band (genre wise)?
Stick to poker.
I guess being an absolute jerk is your right. Enjoy your stay.
on FR. Enjoy it.
Do you know where we can hear it? Can we buy it now?
Whoops...forgot to answer this. Its also on the Songs Inspired by The Passion of Christ.
