Blood Found on Peterson's Bedspread
REDWOOD CITY (BCN) -- Investigators scoured Scott Peterson's home, vehicles and warehouse for traces of blood but apparently only found four small spots, according to testimony Monday in his double murder trial.
The four spots were found on the duvet cover in Scott and Laci Peterson's bedroom, according to state Department of Justice criminalist Pin Kyo.
Kyo did not indicate if authorities had linked the blood to either Peterson or his wife.
Police also recovered several small chunks of concrete from a boat tarp found in Peterson's backyard shed, according to Kyo.
Prosecutors have alleged that Peterson, 31, used cement........
Forensic expert found no traces of Laci Peterson's blood
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. A forensic scientist testified Monday she found no blood on mops and a wash bucket that prosecutors have suggested Scott Peterson used to clean up after killing his wife.
"I tested stains on the buckets as well as on the string mop and the sponge mop and they are all negative for the presumptive test for blood," Pin Kyo of the Calif. Department of Justice crime laboratory told jurors at Peterson's capital murder trial.
Kyo said she noticed the odor of cleaning detergent when she inspected the mops and bucket. Peterson claims his pregnant wife, Laci, was mopping when he left.
The prosecution witness also said there was no blood in a vacuum bag Peterson swept with the day after his wife vanished, nor on the tarp and boat cover he took on a fishing trip, which prosecutors claim was a cover for disposing her body.

REDWOOD CITY -- Four tiny, faded stains sprinkled on Scott and Laci Peterson's bedspread was the only blood evidence found after testing items collected from the couple's house, a state scientist testified Monday in Scott Peterson's double-murder trial.
Prosecutors called Pin Kyo, a criminologist with the state Department of Justice, to the stand Monday. She conducted forensic tests on Peterson's canvas boat cover, a bucket and mops found outside his front door, a blue tarp and other items collected as evidence by Modesto detectives following Laci Peterson's disappearance.
All of the items except the bedspread tested negative for blood, Kyo said. It remained unclear Monday whether the blood on the bedspread was Scott or Laci Peterson's. But the stains appeared old and faded, as if they had been on the bedspread for some time, according to photographs displayed in court. .......

September 14, 2004 -- REDWOOD CITY, Calif. The judge in the Scott Peterson slay trial yesterday threatened to boot the family of the suspect's murdered wife to the back of the courtroom after days of watching them mock defense witnesses and lawyers from the front row.
Sharon Rocha, mother of Peterson's slain wife, Laci, had smirked while her longtime companion laughed in court last Thursday as one of Peterson's lawyers questioned a witness.
Rocha also was reported having mocked Scott's dad, Lee Peterson, as he testified later that morning. Howard Breuer .........

Petersons back in front row after judge reconsiders move
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. A judge apparently reconsidered his decision to move Scott Peterson's parents and those of his slain wife from their front row seats.
When they arrived at court Monday morning, the double-murder defendant's parents, Lee and Jackie Peterson, were initially directed to a row of seats near the back of the courtroom.
But moments later, lawyers emerged from a closed door meeting with Judge Alfred Delucchi and a bailiff told the couple they were free to sit in their normal seats behind their son at the defense table.
According to a source close to the case, an angry Delucchi told lawyers last week that he was banishing relatives to the back of the courtroom because of their behavior during the proceeding.

Laci Peterson's parents absent from murder trial after difficult week
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. Laci Peterson's parents are "taking a break from the case" after run-ins with their former son-in-law's parents and a local police officer, a source close to the family said Monday.
Sharon Rocha and Ron Grantski were not present for testimony in Scott Peterson's capital murder trial Monday and the source said they will not attend the proceeding at all this week.
The couple, who have rarely missed a minute of testimony during the first three months of the trial, planned to sit outside the courtroom when some graphic autopsy photos were shown to jurors this week, but Rocha and Grantski decided not to come to the courthouse at all after a series of incidents last week, the source said.
On Tuesday, Grantski, the victim's stepfather, and Peterson's father, Lee, exchanged angry words near a courthouse escalator.

Only 4 droplets of blood found
State tested objects from victim's house
The state Department of Justice tested everything from mops to pajamas found at Scott Peterson's house for traces of blood, but found only four small droplets on a comforter cover, a criminalist testified Monday at Peterson's double-murder trial.
Prosecutors did not reveal whose blood was found on the cover taken from the bed Peterson shared with his wife, Laci.
The four specks of blood were barely visible on the bedding when prosecutor David Harris flashed them on a large screen for jurors. Pin Kyo, a criminalist for California's Department of Justice, said she discovered one at the top of the cover, another at the bottom right and two others on the bottom left.
Jim Hammer, a former prosecutor covering the trial as a legal analyst, said the size, amount and location of the droplets proves little.

Expert: GPS device malfunctioned, but data good
1:58 p.m.: REDWOOD CITY - A Modesto man this morning denied any involvement in the disappearance of Scott Petersons pregnant wife. Matt Laolagi brought employment records indicating he was working when Laci Peterson was reported missing on Dec. 24, 2002.
Laolagi said he had dinner the night before with Kim McGregor, who helped in the massive search and later admitted to police that she stole a video camera, several jackets, mens underwear and Laci Peterson's Social Security card from the Petersons Covena Avenue home.
Scott Petersons defense previously tried to show that police turned McGregor into an informant instead of thoroughly investigating her, and said she and her then-boyfriend should have been considered suspects.
In other testimony, two experts said satellite tracking devices used by police to monitor Scott Petersons movements worked well despite a couple of glitches.
In contrast to the dry, technical testimony was a flurry of activity outside of official proceedings, including the sudden appearance of the father of Petersons other woman, tightened security for Petersons family members and shifting chairs for families on both sides.
Ron Frey, father of Petersons former lover Amber Frey, sat .....

PINGING.......
PINGING.......
PINGING.......
Nothing Dear, I'm just mixing some cement.
One of the problems with all these documentary and fictional police forensics shows (e.g. "Cold Case", "CSI") is that they're helping to "school" murderers on what not to do. Murderer Peterson had thoroughly cleaned his home immediately after his wife "went missing". No one's going to find buckets of blood there. The prosecution should have taken up Vincent Bugliosi's offer to present their case.
Each passing day of this tragic situation only convinces me (and watching Scott's behavior) that Scott Peterson is a certified sociopath.....
So true, in a race for ratings the networks will do shows oh how vulnerable certain sites are which simply identifies them for the terrorists or anyone who wants to do evil. Apparently Scott has been watching all those shows and gotten some "pointers" as to how to pull off this little caper except nobody taught him how to act afterwards so he is failing miserably at that.
I don't think he necessarily even drew blood when he killed her, possibly vomit or if the trauma caused her to go into premature labor, amniotic fluid seems more likely.
how about a plastic bag over her head so she suffocates in the bag w/o a trace of evidence !
how old was the blood?
One certainly shouldn't conclude casually that Peterson's presence was a coincidence. But if I were on the jury I would really like to hear more as to why I should believe that Peterson murdered his wife.
As far as I can see, the fishing trip is the only incriminating fact the prosecution can offer. Not being at the trial, I'm relying on the occasional news accounts I read, but it seems to me that the prosecution is blowing it. They appear to be pretending that a host of things are incriminating that are not-- phone calls to Frey, tiny specks of old blood, the fact that Scott Peterson has got plastic tarps in his garage. Why do that? The danger is that the jury will decide that this stuff *isn't* incriminating and then decide that the prosecution's judgment is flawed.
Nearly every call that was made by another to Scott, they always theorized about something, like this call with Sharon, however, you never hear Scott theorize on anything, just lie, lie, and deny.
My thoughts exactly, I dont think he could sneak up on her from behind even, just in her sleep and a little duct tape around the bag and he is done.
