CBS News continued to stand behind documents it obtained that raised new questions about President Bush's National Guard service, citing handwriting and type experts, Dan Rather reports.

Point by point rebuttal to CBS news last assertion that the Bush memos are real
1st several methods were used to authenticate the documents. Handwriting experts were consulted, thats fine. They got to look at copies. I can copy a scanned signature very easily from anything I want and paste it to anything I want. The copy will look perfect which is why if you dont see the original you cant tell it is a fake.
The second method mentioned by Bill Glennon was proportional spacing, superscripts(as a custom feature), and proportional spacing between lines you could order that any way you liked. Okay, this was the National Guard were talking about here, just how common do you really think that was? Lets say for sake of argument that this guy actually had the only typewriter in the Guard that could do all these special things. That still leaves many other problems with these documents too numerous for me to go into. Go here for a detailed list.
Mr. Glennon goes on to say the lower case l could be reproduced on a laser printer these days. How laughable! Let me try here ( l8 ), gee that looks fine to me! Want to bet it prints fine too?
Okay next he says that a combination of the th the th would just be too hard on a computer these days. Well I did that last sentence without much trouble lets try a different way. The 1st and 2nd points have been debunked, I bet I can do the same with the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7 th, and so on! Yep that was simple too! All it to was me to press Ctrl + Z and it undoes the superscript, or if I put a space in it doesnt even do it automatically! Wow! I must be a computer wiz!
Now they say the content is consistent. Consistent with what? They say official documents they received show he was suspended on the same day as the memo shows. This point I would have to research more, Im not sure what the truth is there, maybe someone else can help me out there.
I would say all in all Dan Blathers last attempt is as lame as the rest to say the memos are real.

Yesterday, TIME Magazine identified Bill Glennon as a former typewriter repairman.
Today, CBSs latest denial features Bill Glennon prominently as a document expert.
This argument is tantamount to saying that a forged driver's license would be valid if the address shown on the forged license matched the person's actual address.
LAUGHABLE!
"Now they say the content is consistent. Consistent with what? They say official documents they received show he was suspended on the same day as the memo shows."
Heh, that's the great thing about forgeries. You can make them say anything you want. The people running this "excuse circus" must be the same people running the sKerry campaign. But we already know that.
CBS is just digging the hole deeper. They are dead meat, without any intent (it appears) of cleaning up their act. It just won't happen -- they are in SO DEEP WITH THE FAR-LEFTISTS, sharing in their rabid quest for power and control, they went over the top a long time ago.
I see CBS (Communist Broadcasting System) as a plane in a spin, going down in flames. They are toast. I still wish I had been the fly on the wall, when WHOMEVER (and we can make some pretty educated guesses) brought the forgeries into the CBS Kremlin.
It remains my opinion that someone very high up in the Commu-Crat party set them up big time. They now have to lie, par for the course anyway. They continue to see the American public as their "useful idiots" -- thank you Karl Marx.
