Read the excerpt again. They weren't asking for help. They were seeking validation for their action in founding the new nation - and they made it clear that they were speaking for the entire country in the process. You just can't get much more explicit than that.

Reread what I said please....


The Declaration was not the basis for our government. It was never meant to be.


Asking for approval is different than designing the government having God as the foundation. But it's ok, believe what you wish, it is a free country.
